I know it wouldn't be officially approved by any motherboard manufacturer but will a new Slotket by Iwill or Abit (or any others) allow the use of a Coppermine FC-PGA processor in a Slot 1 BX (or ZX) motherboard that wasn't designed for one? I have an FIC VB-601 and an Asus P2-99 (both Slot 1) that will supposedly support up to P3 600 with a BIOS update. Is the Coppermine support just a matter of different voltages, which the slotket is able to change I think, or is there more fundamental differences in the chipset or BIOS that the Slotket would not be able to handle? Most of the descriptions of the Slotkets merely say they allow the use of a Coppermine in a Slot 1 BX MB but aren't really specific as to whether the MB has to be able to support the Coppermine.
