This is probably unrelated but about 6 months ago I replaced the ignition coils on the car due to the CEL coming on and reporting multiple cylinder misfire(also very noticeable without the light!) That solved that issue and I haven't had any issues with it since.
Just recently I started having an issue with idling. When I'm driving along and stop the car at a stop sign or what not the RPM on the tac goes right to the last notch(sometimes a little below it) which is supposed to be 500rpm, it'll stay there for about 10-15 seconds and then return to about where it typically idles at, although sometimes instead the tac starts "bouncing" goes up to about 1100 drop back down to 500 back up again and so forth before settling back around 800rpm where it should be idling at. This is particularly annoying in rush hour .
There's no CEL coming on which would actually be kinda nice because it could be helpful because then I could look up a code.
I've read all sorts of things from googling about EGR valve issues, however I would except something with that to trigger a CEL, I also read issues about air intake leaks but I would expect the idle issue to continue not stop after 10-15 seconds.
The car runs just fine while driving, no lack of power or any other issues that I'm aware of. This seems to have happened after disconnecting the battery to clean the battery terminals and pull a wire out that I had ran for something else, I have no idea how that would cause any issues.
Anyone have any advice?
