unrelated to large transfers, my blackberry causes intermittent slow/jerky movement if it's on my desk. I only mention it because it took me a while to figure out it was my phone that caused the issue.

Yeah I have this same issue. Presumedly it's the fact the RF receiver in my Logitech MX is 2.4Ghz, just like the Wireless G signal going from my laptop. The laptop obviously puts out a much stronger signal which causes alot of noise to the mouse.

To the OP, and hrmrdj, if your router supports it, try changing the network to 5GHz frequency. That might help avoid the interference you're seeing.

Wired or wireless- it indicates spurious emission interference (RFI). Is your network cable well shielded? Can you try a different cable? It could also be coming from the docking station. Try it without that.

check your cpu usage when transferring large files. i've seen crappy nics cause large spikes before.

if you have another wireless mouse to test with, try that and see if it still does the same. If so, then it's definitely something in your environment. cell phone, cordless phone, microwave, your neighbor's wireless mouse, etc.

If not, then you may have a defective mouse.

OR, you might have something on your desk or under mouse that is interfering with the tracking laser like a piece of lint/dust.

Looks like this is what it is, anything i can do about it its a laptop

its a intel(R) 82567LM Gigabit Network Connection

intel NICs are usually far from crappy. make sure you have the latest drivers, other than that not sure...

easy to test, just use the wireless on another pc with nic and transfer files and see if it jerks.
if it doesn't, your drivers or something funky is going on with the first system.

It was malwarebytes website blocking feature also was choking network file transfer speeds down to 50Mb. It cause the mouse to mess up

no, more simply bring the mouse to another computer, if it works fine on that one, its a defective computer
