Slow systems

Does anyone know of any tools that can determine where a machine is bottle necking at? I have several systems that are running very slow. Here are some of the things I have done

1. Installing Intel Accelerator
2. Reinstalling chipset drivers
3. Defrag
4. Moved the virtual memory up some

The systems are Pentium 4 1.8 GHz 512 meg ram on windows XP sp1

not really. You just have to get very detailed specifications of your computer and find out from there by tracing through and checking everything.
You need to get your motherboard model and the manual, you need to check you RAM, what latency it has, the BIOS settings (there's lots in there that can slow a machine down if set incorrectly), and compare them all together.

Could just be that you have a slow hard drive. In almost every computer, the hard disk is the bottleneck. A slow hard drive is very noticable and frustrating.

Also, you may have loads of adware/spyware/a worm/a virus running in the background. These slow down a machine by a huge amount, so you'll be wanting to check for these if you haven't already.

Thanks for a quick response.

The systems are IBM Netvistas model 6794-nuu. The hard drives are 40 gig 7200 rpm, maxtor, ibm drives and WD.
