Does this make sense? I had a couple of youtube videos open in a few tabs on firefox and my fps in Battlefield 3 were a little less by about 10 fps. Is this normal ?
Most GPUs have an idle clock speed, a maximum speed that's supposed to be activated for 3D applications, and a sort of mid-range clock speed that's usually for video playback. I'd suspect that for some reason your card is not throttling up to full speed and is staying stuck at the video playback speeds.
i unchecked 'enable hardware acceleration' by right clicking on a video and going into settings. I think it helps I'm not sure though maybe somewhere else can chime in
