I'm not sure where to start troubleshooting this issue, or if it is just my perception. Certain apps (or even screens of apps) seem to have less fluid mouse movement than others. It feels like a FPS drop in a game.
Specifically, I'm seeing it fairly consistently with the login screen of Private Internet Access, screens in Razer Synapse (older version - new version seems to have resolved), and some screens of Steam. No rhyme or reason to the specific screens in steam that seem to lag.
I've tried adjusting windows mouse options like changing the Scheme to "none", and unchecking "enable pointer shadow" as I've seen similar behavior in Virtual Machines resolved by those settings in the past. I made sure "enhance pointer precision" is disabled as well.
I've also played with the windows visual effects settings a bit, but no avail.
When the window in question is the active window, the mouse motion seems 'stuttery' for all windows, but goes away as soon as I minimize and/or close the problematic window.
I thought at one point that it could just be an optical illusion, as generally (not always), the apps that exhibit this behavior have dark backgrounds. However, I changed windows to a black and charcoal grey desktop, and modified the background color of other windows.
Not sure if it is just me, or even how I would further try to diagnose a potential issue. Thoughts?
