I woke up thinking about this and I wanted to hear some thoughts....

I was intrested in properly getting a TV for my bedroom. Things I would need:

- A TV stand with adjustable height. This is so I can see the TV sitting down on a chair in my bedroom, on the bed, etc.
- A actual TV. Has to be 1920x1080
- A simple basic but decent 5.1 sound system
- Something, either incoprerated into the TV or else, that streams from my NAS to the TV.

This TV will problably move around from one side of the room to another so the TV stand is pretty important. Other than that, I dont mind if its not the best TV/sound system in the world. Something decent.

Honestly, 5.1 in the bedroom always seems a bit silly to me. A good 2.0 active bookshelf set up that can cover 50Hz-20K is generally good enough for a TV in the bedroom, IMO. And if your stand is big enough, you can drag the whole set up from one AC plug to another. Try that with 5.1!

yeah but if the op is "into" he's movies, multi channel sound will always work better than 2 channel for the experience.
Stay away from the crappy all in one box systems that are commercially available.
If you don't have the space for bookshelves, some smaller satellites from Kef or Boston Acoustics would do the trick!

At the least I'd do a 3.1. For a basic set up I have found this to be pretty decent.

Yeah, I perfer SOME level of multi channel.
Why would a all in box not work? I cant have a high volume either because of neighbors so any quality is already lost in volume.
No bookshelves

A lot of random stuff...results from quick search:

Polk Tl1600 = €299.00
Vizio = ? (They dont seem to sell here)
AVR-S500BT = ? (Dont seem to sell here either)
Why do I want a "articulating wall mount"?
Chromebox CN60 = ? (Dont seem to sell here)

You picked out too specific hardware. Out of all these, Asus is the one more worldwide known.

I dont see the need for a AVR-S500BT or a Chromebox. Most smart TVs should be able to stream from a DLNA certified server.

Yup, looks pretty simple. Except that is a brand only sold from them there right?

For the streaming device, you could use something like a Chromecast/Roku.

If you haven't already, look into "Plex."

OP is from Spain, so what's cheap here won't be cheap there.

OP, you may be better suited finding what the budget brands are around you. Once you're looking in the "small Budget" realm, pretty much everything is the same with a different brand name slapped on it.

Again, I fail to see WHY I need a streaming device.

Example: Down in my living room, there is a smart TV. I stream 1080 over wifi from WMP to it perfectly. No lag. No incompatibilty. No problems.

There is NO reason that I can remotely think of that I would need a seperate device. Am I missing something?

Yes but this is completely dependent on how much content you have.

I was in your position before and I streamed from my PC to my smart TV.
I only had less than 100 movies at the time I think, a very small library.

Then my library grew, and navigating it on my smart TV was a chore. It involved tons of extra button presses, and even then it was only useful if I knew exactly what I wanted to watch. I want my Romantic Comedies in a list for me? Well, I better know by heart what those are. I want to know what the movie Battle Royale is about? I have to get my smart phone out and google it.

Something like Plex, changes that. It adds all that information to your TV so you can navigate a larger library more efficiently, get recommendations on what you haven't watched in your library.

Lets say you were watching Fringe, and you left off on a certain episode. Didn't watch for 3 weeks and forgot where you left off? You open Plex, and it already knows what the next episode is. You don't look for it, you just hit play. Want to know what happened in the past episodes? Go read the episode descriptions for the last 10 episodes, all within the app.

It really is dependent on how large your library is though. I'm going to be willing to guess that yours isn't that large, hence the thought that you don't need a separate device (Which is where I was when I was in your position about 8 years ago).

Now for me? I have 28 terabytes I think of HDD space full of TV/Movie. Without a program like Plex/XBMC, there is zero way I can remember what a show is/what episode I'm on.

I am way too wordy so I don't want to bore you with any more details but that's just the gist of why people recommend media programs like Plex. Even now on my PC, I'm using Kodi/XBMC to access my "NAS"(Dumbest term ever but whatever), rather than just navigate through folders. Why? It's more convenient, it remembers my episode location, if I get tired and fall asleep, I can open up and start exactly where I left off, if I feel like it, or start watching something else. If I ever come back to that show/movie, it will ask me if I want to resume right where I left off.

We'd need information on your viewing habits/library size/content acquisition (How you acquire content) to really assess the best option although I'm guessing from this thread, you really aren't the Plex/XBMC candidate.

You would probably be better off investing more $ to make your living room more comfortable and cinema'y. I think bedroom TV environments should stay away from the engagement you get in your living room.

Sorta like the saying on how you shouldn't do anything in the bed other then sex and sleep. Anything extra interferes with those.
