Small PC cube cases?

Are there any small, truly cubical cases for the PC? The Soldam Pandora line is a bit closer than the Shuttle Anandtech just reviewed:

But it's still elongated, and costs a million dollars.

I really like the idea of these PCs, especially mixing the aluminum and acrylic, but for some reason I just find the slightly elongated shape much less appealing than a cube.

Like I said in the article thread, there isn't really room in the Shuttle to make it any less deep, so they'd have to make it wider and / or taller, like your Soldam link is already. It could be done of course, but people buying these want the smallest possible size that allows a normal 5.25" device, which is not a cube.

To make one they'd probably need an external power supply, and possibly also a laptop cd / DVD drive instead of a full-size one. I suppose you could DIY starting with any cube box (maybe some old external SCSI box?) or stack 3-4 Cubid cases together and make yourself a cube cluster

Yeh, Dave, actually, that's kind of what I personally would find appealing; I could live with a little taller and wider to get the proportions even. I was kind of hoping there might be one out there, but you're right - most people who buy these are looking for the smallest possible case.

How about this: is there anyone out there who makes custom cases that could do one out of a combination of materials? I could DIY it, but I don't have the skills or tools to do a proper job and make it look really nice.
