As much as I understand that, I can't take the price gouging. Isn't this thing supposed to be 599 or something?

According to the ATI CrossFire FAQ, you can run multiple monitors when not in CrossFire mode. Does anyone know if enabling/disabling this mode requires a reboot? I had to ditch my 9800GX2 because if its lack of support for multi monitors with SLI enabled.

MSRP for a reference HD5850 card was $260 on launch day, two months later it's $55 more if I went with the HIS HD5850 for $315... wow... 29 hours later and it's still in stock too!?

Well, that's better than shelling out $400, which I would have had to do two weeks ago in order to just be able to reach checkout at mwave.com.

Maybe this is a hint that the tide as finally turned?

Honestly though, after this long, I'm just going to wait until the HD5850 comes back down to at least MSRP. That is unless Nvidia surprises us, but I'm not holding my breath.

ZipZoomFly has had some stock on the 5850 the past couple of days, but they have their prices up around $370-380 or more. I have had a XFX 5850 on order from Amazon since 10/29 for $260 and am waiting for that to fill.

I'm up right now at 5:39am PST waiting for the next available ASUS Radeon HD 5970 batch from Newegg.

Would you guys happen to know what time Newegg restocks its Radeon HD 5970 shipments, or are the times completely random? I spoke to a representative at my local Micro Center the other day who told me that the store receives new incoming shipments on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 9:00am PST.
