I agree 100% I will not be resubscribing because of this. Anand recommending a reseller with a 4.72 rating on resellerratings.com is just awful. I commend Kyle at HardOCP.com with his choice to only advertise for companys with a HIGH ratings.

I don't mind TCWO having ads, because they are an AWESOME company, but I really don't like Tigerdirect being advertised... makes me disappointed, and I CAN complain because I subscribe...

Should an end user need to return a product purchased from them for return or for RMA, TigerDirect has to have the user call the manufacturer of the product to have (the manufacturer) issue an RMA number so that TigerDirect can take it back.

I knew someone that bought from TigerDirect in that he purchased the extended warranty on a product w/c I think was 1-3 years I believe. The part went bad, the user called TigerDirect and WOULD NOT EVEN HONOR the extended warranty.

Why won't Anand respond either in this thread?.....or better yet, via a sticky, as to his reasoning in:

1. Accepting the ad as a sticky, in the first place
2. Leaving it stickied in spite of the expressed experiences of the great unwashed

I mean, even just admitting it is a sellout......I can live with that and just ignore the sticky. Heck, everyone has a price. But to not even address the issue. That just shows a lack of giving a rat's.

I sure was surprised when I went to HD and saw the sticky. My first thought was, "What has this come to?"

Sorry, but nothing is gonna happen. They were bad when the advertising deal was struck and they will be bad when it is over. I figure this will drag on untill the advertising commitment is over. Whats TD gonna say? "Yes we are shady, so sorry". Dream on. Money talks...ethics walk.

No, that's not how things work here. In all fairness we have to give TD a chance to respond which is what the sales staff is doing with my permission.

Well, they promised us a reply by Monday - THIS mon, right? - I will wait to see what AT has to say before commenting one way or the other. We'll (hopefully) see the integrity AT is noted for . . . if they want to, they CAN get out of the TD ad deal.

AFAIK, the matter was discussed with TD today (Monday) we will have their response posted within the next 24 hours. You have my word on that.

This will get resolved and it will be done fairly and justly; if in the process we can help resolve issues with TD then so be it, if not then at least we can say we tried.

There have been some negative posts about rebates. TigerDirect does not offer any "direct" rebates, we simply promote the rebates being offered by the manufacturers/vendors. This being said - we will do our best to help with any rebate issues.

There have also been some negative posts in regards to PhoneCards & Credit card numbers. TigerDirect offered a program from a 3rd party provider in the past & based on negative feedback - we permanently shut down this program months ago.

Do not just take our (Tiger's) word for our commitment to customer service - look at what over 100,000 of our customer's are saying:

This IS exactly what I expected Tiger Direct to say.



Even reading the COMMENTS at PriceGrabber shows a lot of really negative feedback (44 BAD stories out of 265; 27 neutral). And it covers ONLY the last SIX (6) months of business.

From PG's link, it even shows Tiger Direct does NOT have a 100% Satisfaction Guarantee

From BizRate, 50% of the evaluations have been negative just this week alone! Over the past month, 18% were not postitive. Unless I am mistaken, BizRate does an immediate follow-up, so problems with RMAs and returns are not generally covered.

From their own links, One Customer in Six gets screwed. That is a pretty appalling track record that Tiger Direct seems proud of (after all, they provided the links).
What I am looking for is AnandTech's swift response; that they really RESEARCH the complaints and then decide TigerDirect should NOT be a sponsor.
