Our goal is to make every single customer happy & have every single customer transaction be positive. When there are issue's - we listen & address them immediately.

There have been some negative posts about rebates. TigerDirect does not offer any "direct" rebates, we simply promote the rebates being offered by the manufacturers/vendors. This being said - we will do our best to help with any rebate issues.

There have also been some negative posts in regards to PhoneCards & Credit card numbers. TigerDirect offered a program from a 3rd party provider in the past & based on negative feedback - we permanently shut down this program months ago.

Do not just take our (Tiger's) word for our commitment to customer service - look at what over 100,000 of our customer's are saying:

Thank you!

Saying that Tiger Direct had a "few" negitive posts is like saying there was "some" swearing in Goodfellas.

It's not like we expected to hear Tiger go, "Wow, I never knew we screwed over all these customers! It must have been because of our porly designed customer service and buisness model. We will change our core values right away!"

I love it how when you go to the links provided by Tiger that you can see the very problems we have been pointing to. They say the Customer's info is private and confidential, but this must be new! I seem to remember over 50 members at AT alone who said that fraudulant charges magicly appeared on their CC's after placing a order with Tiger. ( one of my links above ) While these charges were not from "Tiger" it sure looks to me that Tiger facilitated them.

I doubt I will go anywhere anytime soon, but accepting add money from one of the most despised computer venders has definately hurt AT's credibility. Now I will have to think twice about ordering anything frolm any of the front page venders

Excellent point. My gut feeling is that Anand will take care of this.

Hmm, well Ill tell ya thats pretty much what I expected, they said allot and said nothing. An appoligy or admission that in the past they had screwed up would have gone a long way I feel, but they took no direct responsibility for any past/present shortcomings. They could have said "we want to earn your confidence back" but I quess they dont feel they have to.

They are TOO obvious. TigerDirect must be really proud that they (now) have (only) 1 customer in 6 dissatified since they posted their most recent track record reviews for all to see.

I've never dealt with TD, but I do have experience getting shafted by online venders. My thinking is this:

If a company makes a mistake, or makes a bad decision or two, or just screwed up royally some how...that's cool as long as they come out and say "Oh crap, we were wrong. Our fault. Accept our apologies. It won't happen again."

BUT -

If a company is shady. If they make a decision that they know isn't ethically right and screw their customers with full knowledge of what they're doing. And then never come out and admit responsibility...nor ever apologize, but pass the buck and deny any fault. If they screwed people willingly and knowingly...then they shouldn't get the business (nor the respect) of anybody.

Just to share a little story of why I dislike TD,

A very close friend of mine ordered a 256MB stick of ram (back in the days that ram was still rather expensive, round $50-$75 or so) from TD. A week or so later, the ram arrived. Well, so we thought. He opened the package only to find out that it was empty. He called TD numerous times over the next 2 weeks or so and they would not refund his money, saying that to some effect they didnt believe him. He eventually settled this with his CC.

Im sorry but even looking at Bizrates reviews (that TD themselves provided), 50% of the customers from THIS WEEK ALONE seem to have felt screwed.

Quite dispicable if ya ask me.

Well the fat lady has sung and everyone already knew what the tune was gonna be , but in all honesty, what could they have said?

EDIT: If you read the rules for the contest you will find that they are gonna sell your email address and you have to opt out from each company they sell it to. I figure everyone is smart enough to use a spam email addy but just pointing it out. Its $250k over 30 years so just over $8000 a year.

Well with Anandtech still running the add for Tigerdirect I will never subscribe. Makes my life easier. I was trying to decide between here and arstechnica. Anandtech made my decision easy.........

It is sad really. I wish Anand would get involved directly.........

I could scam 1000 people and say Im trying to have great customer service... words dont meant crap. And I hope to not see TD on Anandtech soon and anytime in the future until their reseller ratings SHOW that they can back their words. But of corse thats not my choice. Atleast my subscription still has a ways to go before its time for renewal, so I guess Ill wait till then to see.

Have you read the thread ?

Look up, Anand is on top of the situation

DOH.....I missed that post. I was watching this thread closely yesterday waiting for TD's reply. I looked today and saw they had replied and only went up that far so I missed Anand's post. I am glad to see he has taken the time to look at the situation.

Sorry, but this has been bugging me.....

It's "AD", people! Not "ADD"!

"Ad" = short for "Advertisement". (Notice there's one d in "Advertisement".) As used in "Ad campaign", "Ad revenue", "The Ad Council", etc.

"Add" = to calculate or otherwise create the sum of two or more entities. Two ds. As used in "Add 3 and 4", "Add the sugar to the water", etc.

This has been a public service announcement courtesy of bizmark. Not affiliated with The Ad Council.

Something is going on. They've edited the title to the thread in HD at least twice today.

Hopefully it is because the listing time is being sped up to get in the information that was promised, then the ad go bye bye.

Well, the AD has been running for 9 uninterrupted days . . . they only need to ignore our wishes for a few more days and they will have fulfilled their commitment to TD for the usual 2 week run.

:disgust:

I heard it was a toss up between AOL and A2Z Computers.

Nice timing
Mine is running up as well, nov 1st. I am going to renew despite the distaste the Tiger Direct incident has left with me. I believe Anand's hands are tied in this matter, and that it most likely will not happen again.

I agree with Snoop. But maybe in the meantime, the TD thread could be unlocked so people could post warnings? But maybe that's against some advertising contract. I would have no problem with AT making money from TD as long as TD did not make any money from ATers.

No, that's not how things work here. In all fairness we have to give TD a chance to respond which is what the sales staff is doing with my permission.

Yes, it obviously IS how things work here. With the well known abhorrent practices of TD, they should never have become an AnandTech Deal. The weight of the evidence of past behavior should have precluded even the thought of contacting the vendor for their "response". The ad should have been pulled and AT should have washed their hands of the whole deal. The fact that the ad is still running after all of this just makes it appear that AnandTech is just biding time for the ad-run and isn't interested in supporting the community. The response from TD was devoid of substance and of no use to those who have been burned by them in the past. There was no chance they were going to magically change their business practices, screwing people is working for them, so I don't even know why AnandTech bothered other than just to draw out the process and make more money.

PLEASE, pull the ad and make us all happy.

Get real, not that I know how the contract between AT and TD looks, but somehow I doubt it includes a clause that says AT can remove the ad if the AT members are unhappy with TD.
A contract is legally binding in case you didn't know.

Of course it's unfortunate that the ad got put up in the first place, but the deal was probably sealed by some marketing fella who doesn't have a clue about TD's reputation.
A more reasonable request is that AT be more careful in the future.
