Just to let you know we moderators are with you in this matter. Like you, we are forum members, and we not happy about it either, and I have personally spoken with Anand about your concerns several times. Right now, the problem is that there are contractual issues that must be resolved before this matter can be settled.
We also want to warn you, before you enter TD's contest, you should be aware that doing so will probably result in receiving spam from TD and their "affiliated partners." We assume this means whoever they choose to sell their mailing list to. The rules for their contest state:
2. Email: Should you access the TigerDirect.com web site to participate in this Sweepstakes by clicking on an icon or other link on another web site, by submitting the registration form you will opt-in to receive email or other communications from TigerDirect.com and its affiliated partners. You may subsequently opt-out of the receipt of such email or communications by following the directions in the email or contacting that site. Whether you opt-in or opt-out will not affect your participation, or chances to win, in this Sweepstakes. During the Promotional Period, however, you may nevertheless receive emails which TigerDirect deems are related to the Sweepstakes and related programs.
I know Anand is meeting with our advertising people this week. I strongly suggested to him that, in the future, they should learn from this experience and do a better job of screening prospective advertisers before entering such agreements with them.
All I can promise is that we always have tried, and we will continue to try, to keep our forums what our members want and expect them to be.
