Maybe they should use the Patriot Act to find out who leaked Valerie Plame.

I doubt the founding fathers wanted women's rights or gay marraige either.

I just hope none of the people who checked out the book are Muslims. If so they better move to Canada.

Personally, I find it disgraceful that the FBI is trying to get away with stunts like this. They have NO business trying to censor or remove books or obtain the records of people who read certain books.

m saying that its PLAUSABLE that the patriot act's benefits out way its costs. sure there are BS cases like this that need to be tossed out, but if it allows us to capture terrorists, or maybe prevent another 9/11, then its worth it despite a couple BS cases like this that obviously need to be over-ruled.

Would it be OK to arrest a few innocent people too if it meant we could snag some terrorists?

No it wouldn't, it'd be disgraceful. One innocent person is one to many.

so if 1 person was innocently arrested, it wouldnt be worth it even if we arrested a terrorist cell that was on the brink of a biological attack in a city?

I just asked how far you were prepared to carry your argument Nick.

For those that don't think our the feds have been eroding our personal freedoms, stop to consider that the criteria for invading your home, car, or basic privacy have gone from: probable cause to reasonable suspicion to hmmmmm.....just maybe.

Oh, and jackschmittusa, good luck getting anything beyond a one-sentence soundbite response from nick1985. He's proven he's incapable of forming a thought-out response.

What, maybe 1/3 of your posts added a 2nd sentence? You still didn't say anything. You had one decent post in this thread.

Perhaps you should look up Benjamin Franklin's thoughts on that subject.
