Smart watches 2013

After I get my smart watch to control my smartphone (after it's become too much of a burden to reach all the way to my pocket for) I just know it's gonna become too much of a chore to reach as far as my wrist all the time. Someone's going to have to come out with the smart ring so I can control my smart watch.

I don't know whether you are making things up or you have a low General knowledge. Just read the market analysis and history of the tablets. Google it. And you would know that people didn't jump on the tablets straight away. There was no market for them when they were released. No other company was interested initially because of that. The market was created afterwards only. Even now people don't see tablets as a viable alternative for laptop. But, tablets have become a complementary gadget for them. It doesn't fulfill/satisfy any need except convenience that a laptop cannot do. It's just a complementary gadget which won't make a difference if you don't have it in the first place if you have a laptop.

Sorry, dunno about you but I lived through that history. My bud bought one the day of the launch, and I told him I would buy one one when it went dual core and got more memory. It wasn't a matter of if, but a matter of when. That happened one year later.

Same is for smart watches. It would become an important complementary gadget for mobiles. For me it makes more sense to put the various sensors like magnetometer, barometer, temperature, heart beat. Precipitation, accelerometer on the watch rather than the mobile in your pocket.

It sounds like you are still thinking like the current manufacturers - If you build it, the customers will come. Well, not so much.

Well, talk about facts. You definately seem to be making things now. Anyways, It won't change anything about the tablets market in the beginning even it you would have bought a tablet before it's release. Just because you bought it doesn't mean the world thought about it the same way.

Now, coming on the second part.
Isn't all technological development about the future hopes and plans. The technology is there. We all know that. Execution is the thing that is happening right now and it would only become better from here on as the big daddy's of the technology world would lock horns for gaining access to your wrist.

And its just a matter of convenience. Just like when you buy a tablet if you have a laptop. A smart watch doesn't necessarily means that you cannot reach the mobile in your pocket. But, it's a much easier way to do some important things that way. It's much more organized and faster way to do those things instead of taking your mobile out all the time from the pocket or your purse.

Dude, the iPhone 1 was pretty much a magical device. The software was unlike anything MS nor RIM could ever dream of. Watch the 2007 keynote, and you'll see how far ahead the iPhone was.

Not sure if Apple would be able to pull the rug from under their competitors again for the iWatch.

Lol "magical"? No, it wasn't. No apps, 15-20 seconds to load a webpage, utterly locked down, no thank you. I consider the iPhone 3G as the first good iPhone, the first one laid down the groundwork for the MUCH better devices that followed, but it was not "magical". And that same concept applies to things like smart watches and other wearables like Google Glass. I'm not excited about gen 1 Google Glass. I'm excited about the future iterations, but you need that first gen product to get you there.

You think these smartwatches are moronic, and I think any iPhones prior to iPhone 4 are terrible devices. What does this mean? Nothing, as these are opinions.

I don't get you guys who are so mad about smartwatches and think that they're nothing but crap. Like have been mentioned several times, these are the first generation, they're only going to get better.

If anything, at least you can count on the Apple's iWatch being excellent and amazingly revolutionary when it comes out, right? right? Can't innovate anymore my ass!

The first iPhone was amazing to me. More than anything else just having a real browser that loaded real webpages (and not mobile versions) was revolutionary to my life.
