I have a 7004AWBR lying in my room collecting dust.. the thing had no range whatsoever.. there weren't even that many walls in between. Personally, I was always under the assumption that SMC made pretty crappy networking products.. I really wouldn't rate them over netgear and linksys.. probably not even over dlink... that's just from personal experience tho... might have just been unlucky with their products.

Yeah...you had some bad luck or you have some interference going on there. Your idea about SMC is wrong too. Their products are very well built and their wireless products are highly respected (way more than Linksys or DLink). Most of their wireless products accept an external antenna making them popular for corporate use. You'll see that magazines like PC Magazine rate SMC products pretty highly as well.
