I just called buy.com csr and i was told that they would ship me 1 switch, And that the manufacture would ship out the other one. Now does this sound strange to anyone else??? They did say they were on back order till the end of march, and that i would not recieve my other switch from manufacture till a week or so after i get my first one. The whole purpose of me buying these were to get two switches, hmm I don't know if i will get that one from the manufacture or not. I might just have to cancel. Hmm....

There is no reason to cancel your orders, OR to pay shipping back.
In the unlikly event that Buy.com does not honor their legal obligations, I will serve them with a formal complaint in California Civil Court. Anyone that wishes to be included in the ligitation may email me and I'll see to it that you name is included in the legal process (as well as any negotiations I conduct with Buy.com). If we band together we will get everything we deserve, if we slowly cancel or stand up individually, buy.com may get away with it. Buy.com has no chance of prevailing, the law is against them. The only thing the executive board may be considering is whether to honor their obligations to all customers, or only those who put up a fight. If you wish to be included in any negotiations I make please email me. I'll need your registered buy.com account email address and the city and state you are from. [this will determine whether it is worth my time to file in federal court, otherwise, only CA residents will be included in the state civil complaint.] Also provide a short statement that you ordered a SMC 16 port "buy one get one free" switch. Please do not provide any additional personal information.
It is highly unlikly Buy.com will not honor this, especially if they communicate with their legal counsel. But, I will see it to the end if that need be.

Can someone post the telephone number to call. How can they charge us when they have only shipped half of the order? If they cannot ship the second half of the order they should offer it half price. I am getting tired of playing their stupid games with their email system. Got this from them: :disgust:

I spoke with a female supervisor named Darla and someone else today. They said they would credit me for one of the two switches I purchased, since I ordered two or send me two additional ones with in 10 days...

Dont bother with sending them emails, all you get back is crap. I should be getting one more call tomorrow from the supervisor, who is going to tell me exactly how everything is going to be handled.

I got one of my switches this afternoon. Only one, not the free one. Or maybe I got the free one and not the one I paid for.

Anyway, I e-mailed Buycomp the following message:

Buycom recently offered a rebate on a SMC brand EZNET 16 port switch that was to include a free second switch. This offer, reproduced below, was on Buycomp's web site untill after 11:30 PM Tuesday night, March 6, 2001. I have stored the appropriate web pages for future use if needed.

On Saturday, March 3, BECAUSE OF THIS OFFER, I placed an order for this SMC switch with Buycomp. As per Buycomp's offer, I expected two switches to ship.

Today, I received ONE switch instead of the two switches Buycomp offered me in this particular transaction. On Monday and Tuesday I talked to Buycomp representatives and in both cases I was told that two switches will ship!!!

When can I expect delivery of my second switch?

I just spoke with a CSR who told me that mine was on backorder and would be arriving in the next week or two. He also stated that the "buy one get one free" deal for $139.95 would be honored for anyone who ordered thru March 6 (Tuesday).

He was not sure if I would be receiving both of mine in one shipment or in separate shipments. He didn't sound like he was handing me any BS - so for now, I'll give buy.com the benefit of the doubt. They have always provided me with good service and have saved me literally hundreds of dollars with their coupons and free shipping.

Has anyone tried to log into their Buy.com account to check on the status of their order????

The reason I ask, is that it appears that Buy.com has pulled their server that handles their online personal accounts. I've tried accessing the server several (make that many) times today and have repeatedly received a....

Cannot find server - Microsoft Internet Explorer

No access to "My Account" (from West coast) for last 20 minutes.

Ordered 03/04..."Sent to Warehouse" status since 03/05 (and as of last viewing earlier today).

Received an email this afternoon - 03/07 - from support@buy.com:

In light of the recent brouhaha, this seems reasonable. Now, if things will just work out this way.

It is truly a cop-out when they apologize for "any confusion"! I hate it when a company screws up and then apologizes for "any confusion" instead of apologizing for "our screwup". I was not confused at all. I knew what they were offering and how much it would cost me. It seems as though they did not have a clue.

So does that mean that BUY.COM will honor the FREE switch? Erg...I cancelled my order thinking that they won't honor it. They still haven't gotten back to me with my cancellation confirmation and the website still says "SENT TO WAREHOUSE"...should I call them and tell them not to cancel the order? Help please!!
