UPS says my weight is 8lbs..could this mean there are 2 switches in the box because another person posted there box was 6lbs.

I just got burnt by Buy.com, I had called up to cancel one of my orders (I ordered 2), and then i made a 2nd order online, and the CSR canceled both orders... Buy.com really needs to hire some better help.

yeah, that would make sense...my package only says 6lbs according to UPS..I would think anything > 10lb would seem like 2 switches

I ordered this morning (a bit late, I know....)and send them an email, this is what they said:

"Hello Martijnos,

Thank you for contacting us at buy.com, the internet superstore.


The promotion was a typo and will not be honored.
We're sorry that the delivery of your order is taking longer than
expected. Due to a setback from the manufacturer, item #10223701 from
your order #*****, is on backorder. We have, however, received an
estimated time of arrival from them and expect your product to ship in

A typo?? That's not my problem! :|
First my Radeon got backordered for a month or so and now this....I never had problems with this store, but it seems their service is getting worse. I have to say it: Buy.com = suck.

I personally will not accept anything less than a second switch. I have an email from their respresentative saying that the second switch will be sent off with the order. This is not a typo sort of error. The email specifically says that the 2nd switch would be included.

I ordered last night and then I emailed them this morning. It seems that no one knows what is going on--at buy.com or this forum! This is the reply I received:

Well, I just got the phone with Customer Support @ Buy.com

I placed my order on-line this morning, Got my e-mail confirming the order, order status says "Sent to Warehouse". CSR told me that the computer generated ETA to the warehouse is March 15th, now this he told me is only a estimated time of arrival, and he didn't expect them to show up till about 1 week later.

I did ask about the buy 1 get 1 free offer, and his answer was they would ship out one of the 2 at first, and then fill the FREE item at a later date, approx 3 weeks later.

Just got off the phone and I am NOT happy with Buy.com

The story I got is completely different. I was told that this was a Typo, and that there NEVER was a buy one get one free with this switch, it was from a diffent item, and that a free switch would NOT be shipped.

When I complained that if I shipped them back, I would be out shipping BOTH WAYS due to thier mistake, I was basically told that's all they could do.

When I told them that I would NEVER have bought this switch without this deal, they said they could price match. I told them that wasn't what I wanted either & I would have to talk to my credit card company & hung up.

I think it's time for a nasty letter to Buy.com.

Uhm..i know people who got the switch when they were $250, buy one get one free. So obviously it wasnt a typo from the beginning....And how do you have a typo that says "buy one get one free"? The web designer all of a sudden have a hand spazm and by the luck of god it printed out buy one get one free?

That scares me about getting one 3 weeks from now. What if they dont give me they second switch, then I have just paid more then I can spend for that one stinkin switch. I am outraged. I am going to call buy.com and record them saying I will get a second switch, and will file a lawsuit agnist them if I dont get it.

There is no way in hell that that is a typo as it is clearly listed in two locations, not only on the rebates page, but when you hit "more" on the product page it says "*FREE Switch will ship with order"... That is impossible to be a typo, if I do not get both switches I will contact my CC company too, if buy.com trys to burn us (by breaking a legal contract) I know for sure i will not stand for it...

-just my rant for the day.

umm, you tape recoding will never hold up in court, one thats the way they work and two it against the law to record phone conversations without consent.

They are also telling me an entire different story now. They did say that this was a promo, but they ran out of inventory of the item so they had to cancel the promotion. Everything I am getting is B.S. A 2nd level Supervisor / Manager will be contacting me some point today to let me know what they are going to do! We all have so much proof. We called to make sure that the promotion was not infact a typo, we have printouts, and emails. If people could please foward me the emails saying that they will infact get a second free switch, that would be great so I can present them with a large arguement. I think the against the law to record phone conversations is dependent on state.

We all know in Maryland its against the law to record phone conversations unless you don't know it's against the law, then it's okay. I think Clinton wishes he could have changed that law.

I know in Texas you CAN record a telephone conversation. The law states that only one party involved in the recording has to know that the conversation is being recorded. So if your recording the call...you know its being recorded!! This is to stop illegal wiretaps but, it still enables you to record any call you are taking part in.
