Okay, got 3 out of my 4 switches and my 4th is coming tomorrow! YAY!!

Just got an email from Buy.com... I have two packages on their way to my doorstep, one switch each... Most excellent!

I just called Buy.com to check the status of my order and they have a message on the from line of their phone system.

"Effective March 30th, we will move to an e-mail ONLY Customer response system. We wil strive to have 8 hour response to all inquiries."

Also, they said my order is on back order until April 16.

Got both switches at the same time (they shipped together, though in differenct boxes).
One is in retail color box and the other is in a b/w box, looks like refurbished. Did you guys get the same thing? or both in color box?

I got two shipping notifications today from buy.com with regards to the one switch (+ one bonus switch) I ordered.

Guess I was wrong.

I got ** BOTH ** my switches today. They shipped yesterday, arrived this morning. Each switch came in it's own box from Buy.com. One switch was a shrinkwrpapped "Retial" package, while the other one was a "White Box" package with a sticker on the side that said "Promo" . Each unit was otherwise identical. Weird thing was that the "Promo" switch came with the wrong electrical plug. It was a European type looking plug, however since they use standard computer/monitor detachable electrical cables, I had plenty on hand.

I just had a visit from the UPS man and he brought both of my switchs. The purchased one and the free one. It's cool buy.com took care of us on this one!!!! Only thing that is strage is that one was in a box wraped with plastic and the other was in a white box with a SMC seal on the flap?? Oh well, as long as both of em work doesn't matter to me. Counterstrike lan parties here I come!!!

I got my switch today... and though I plan on keeping my switches, has anyone seen the eby site lately, it has a million of these things for sale!!! all going for about 70-90 bucks... Good luck to those who are selling their switches last....

Hmm... I got a email stating my (1) switch was on the way, so I fired off a note asking where my other one was.... But when I check "my account" on buy.con, it lists two UPS tracking numbers -- Good sign, I think

Will post if I get the retail / white box phenomenon.

Dito Darknight, Mine left Cali at 3:30 this morning. Two tracking numbers in route to Iowa, first stop KS. I wont see any tracking activity for a few days as that seems to be how long it takes UPS to get something to KS from Cali.

Got my two tracking numbers, I got the white boxed switch today. The tracking number for the other states that the box was left in a UPS facility and rerouted. (this facility is a few hours away).

Odd. It seems several of you who are having one sent now, are having two sent now. I received my first one about 3 days ago with not a hint of when my second one is coming.

I had two orders of one each on 3/4/01. I have only received my free switch for both orders. There is a section on the tracking part of the online invoice that allows you to submit a claim for a package that you never received. Being that it says that my order has been completed and shipped on the website, I went ahead and submitted a claim for not receiving my entire shipment. I was not told where the switches that I paid for are, so that's my justification. I'm pretty sure that if everybody did this, someone would look at it and do something...

I absolutely hate companies that use email only customer service and technical support. They are going to loose a lot of business from that! So what is the deal with this white box stuff?

No Email, but I got my 2 free switches today. Both were in the same retail boxes as the first switches I bought.

got a single email from buy.com stating my 1 item has shipped.
Logged into their web site to check status, and shows 2 tracking numbers.
So I think Im getting the 2 switches. without incident. I ordered when I first saw the deal..

Received my two switches today, one packed in skrinkwrap and other one like a refurbished in a white box. The switch in white box is defective, I plug in the power outlet. Nothing! no power LED. Other one in retail box plug in and powers up. Anyone else got a defective switch?
