Got 2 from the OD in Ohio it was my last effort since I live in Arizona.

Had searched all morning and finally found 2 with base in Ohio. My friends are starting to hate Anandtech.

first of all thanks for the great find and post!

I could get some units too and also the headset (bargained down to $5).
This headset's UPC# is 095673014355. It is the "over head" one, the one sticking in the ear was too heavy.

The headset is really good and has a nice feature, a button with which you can activate the "voice dialing" or other functions.

Unfortunately, my store has no more in the Washington DC area.

One thing that you should keep in mind, all though this info may be too little too late.....our computers represent the inventory as of the morning, so if you call ahead of time and they say "computer says we got 5", that doesn't necessarily mean so. The computer system is pretty accurate, but then again if there's another one of you guys that gets there as soon as they open and buy 4 of them, there's 1 left for the guy that calls in the middle of the day that was told there was 5.

Do I have to install the software first in order to subscribe the handset?

A tip from my nephew - the phone genius.

When installing under Windows ME, Use the "NT" option when it prompts you to install Windows Messaging - not "Win9X". Then all should go smoothly and your wife can start making those long distance calls even easier than before.

I've noticed that the phone does tend to use quite a bit of resources when ran through a PC. The instruction manual suggested that you might consider installing the phone server software on a seperate PC. I've got some old computer scraps lying around that I may throw together just for this purpose.

It's pretty neat to have your telephone ask you who you want to call

I think the manager is not right about that.

A similar discussion was about these phones some many month ago already, but they were much more pricy at that time.
Eversince I was constantly monitoring the prices of these, but they weren't this low until some weeks ago.

Office Depot has a system to denote price reduction.
Items on closeout are ending with $.88 , then after a while they are reduced even more and have then the ending of $.66 and the final blow/sale/closeout is at $.22 (priced to go).

The problem with the $.22 period is, that it is for a very short time, normally days only.
After that the items are DESTROYED.

OD's inventory will start soon, therefore they are flushing out such items.

The sad thing is that OD normally does not do a store forward like Staples, so you really have to either drive there (did somebody mention Honolulu?) or persuade them to ship it to you.

Anyhow, the phones are really great so far!

I'm glad to see that many folks were able to pick some up! I saw them for a few days but thought the marked price ($99.88) was too high for just one handset and didn't want to pay $99.88 for additional handsets... I eventually caved in and was amazed to see it ring up at $29.22.

Unclebud: Are you lacking the software? I'd be happy to post it somewhere or mail you a CD.

yeah, here in northern california, no one had them... except for millbrae (so the computer at a different store told me). so i called them, and after talking to a few people, someone told me they were destroyed to get credit from the company or something. oh well... apparently, they were selling everything for like $10.

Base station is new, never used and includes DA202 base station, desk stand, base power supply USB cable & phone cords, unopened software package including manual & CD. Or can trade the whole sealed box (sku 328361, including the handset) for two new, sealed handsets (sku 328381).

Arrrggg I have a headset and it keeps asking for the backdoor code, which is the IPEI (which is the S/N under the battery) I enter the code and nothing happens. WTF am I doing wrong. The phone is useless unless I can get the backdoor code to work. Any help would be appreciated. Reply here or e-mail me at guy227@home.com

Just out of curiosity, would it work to take in a receipt from OD showing the price paid and see if CompUSA would match it? If that would work, perhaps there would be a way to provide phones to more anandtechers who didn't get in on the deal. Anybody know if this would work?
