Just picked up my XBox360 Premium + 1 year replacement plan. Signed up for the Visa card and also am filling in the rebate. Hopefully, if all works out, this will have been had for $258 after both rebate checks come back.
The Bad:
These guys are total losers at Minneapolis, MN (not all of them). I cannot begin to explain how unorganized and unprofessional that business is. I have no plans to ever do business with them again in the future. If I had known about this before, I would have never went there to get my Xbox360. But since I had already wasted so much time, I figured I should go for it.
When I got there I asked them if they had any, they were like "Yes!" ok, great... I then asked them if they still has the VISA rebate, and they said Yes! Ok, great. I then went to fill out a form. First thing is that there were no pens anywhere to be found. I wondered around the store looking for someone to ask where the pens were, finally found someone and he hunted one down for me. Ok, that is done. I fill out the form and hand it to some kid who has an attitude problem. He told me it would take 10 - 15 minutes to process the application. Ok, whatever... I came back after 20 minutes and the prick told me it was still processing. I found it odd how he knew it was still in the processing stage since he didn't even check... He told me it would be another 10 - 15 minutes. I felt a vibe that this kid was just going to make it as painful as possible to get this Xbox360. So, I was like whatever and asked for my license back and informed this kid that I would be back in about 30 minutes or so. I came back in 30 minutes and the kid was gone and no one knew where my application was. They lost it! Nice... I waited for 30 minutes while they hunted it down. Then all of a sudden this guy hands me the telephone and I am like, WTF? I answer and it is some chick some Bank of America asking me some questions on my account. I answer them and gave the phone back to the rep. I was still like, WTF is going on here? So the manager tells me he will be right back and after another 15 - 20 minutes he came back and handed me my account number and said "here ya go" and then I was like, well, I came here to purchase an XBox360, I told the employee that. Then he was like "Oh... Ok, well here, get in that line and we will get ya set". So, I sat in line and finally got my fuggin Xbox360! Did I even want it after that? Not as much. It really ruined the 'good deal' type of thing.
I used to work retail (CompUSA) and know that the customers who generally try and get the deals get the least amount of service. However, a retail company should really rethink that mentality. The reason they are running those promotions is to get their name out there. If I have a asswipe experience with the company, what good will it do? I will have gotten the good deal and be spreading the bad news about them, they lose doubly! Doesn't it make more sense that if you decide to host really good deals that you fulfill them the way you would any other product? I tell you, had this gone smooth I would have considered purchasing items from this place in the future, but after this experience, I want nothing to do with them.
I pray to God that nothing happens to my Xbox, the last thing I want to do is deal with them again.
Your mileage may very, maybe I just had a bad experience. In all fairness, it was only one guy who was a prick. However, the place is understaffed. Customer service has one person running the operation and in the two hours that I was at the store, the average line wait was around 30 minutes -- Not cool!
