This will only work if you are currently NOT in a contract with SprintPCS:
<edit> People are reporting that this will work if you are currently in contract. You just need to threaten that you will switch to another provider when your contract is over </edit>
1) Use SprintPCS phone to dial *2 (or sprint customer service on a landline).
2) Tell Clair that you would like to speak with somebody about cancelling your service.
3) Once connected to a service cancellation rep, tell them you're fed up with dropped calls, bad coverage, and better rates from other providers.
4) Emphasize that you are not currently in contract with them.
5) Listen to the deals they offer to keep you. Myself and a friend were both offered these(YMMV):
650 anytime national + 2000 nights/weekends national for $35.99/month
OR
1000 anytime national + 3000 nights/weekends national for $49.99/month
6) Tell them you would like a free month of service to think about it.
7) Tell them you hate your phone and want a new one. They will offer $30 credit towards new phone(whether you buy one or not).
8) Call back after your *FREE* month and switch to one of the plans listed above...unless they have better plans by then!
I'm currently on my second free month and then I'll probably choose the 650 anytime plan. Beats the hell out of my current 500 anytime/2000 nights/weekend plan that costs $49.99/month.
