my rep said he could give me 1000/3000 for $50, but wouldnt offer me the 650/3000 which i wanted. he also said that wireless web was a perk that would only last three months, but he could offer it. is anyone getting free wireless web for the term of the contract, or is it just for 3 months?

oh...i have a business account. it almost seems to me that its harder to get deals with a business acct.

Great deal!

Thanks so much.

Started out with the 200/3000 plan, nights starting at 9, and no contract for $39.99per month

Heres what I ended up with:

450/2000
nights at 8pm
first incoming min free
*option to replace free incoming mintue with 50minutes of free roaming permonth
wireless web, and voice dialing for 3 months
= $29.99per month

Great information--Thanks for the post!

As I posted in the other thread:

I also was able to get the 35.99 650/3000 (8PM nights) deal + 3 mo wireless web. They also said they would credit me about $60 for this months bill and about $40 for next month= ~100 to buy a new phone. I thought that was really cool so I said yes.

I used to have 49.99 500/2500 or something like that, so I saved $10 a month and get some extra minutes

BUT...a word of caution:

I remember when I activated my service the first time I had to pay about $120 for the FIRST and LAST months' bills. So I'm wondering if when they so graciously credited me for this month's bill, that was MY OWN $60 they were "crediting" me???!!! I'll see how my bill comes out, and if it is not what I expect (an extra $100 credit) I will not be happy.

So I guess what I'm saying is that if you paid first and last months charges to START your service, whenever it was, don't lose track of that money when you change your contract--you have ALREADY PAID for an extra month of service IN ADVANCE.

I called stating I wanted to cancel my service.
I'm on a discount plan through my employer (15%) and I currently have 1000 peak (8pm) 500 off-peak plus add-a-phone and my bill with discount is $83/m I called the business retention and spoke with a CSR who was nice but didn't have a clue how to get me more minutes for the same $$ or less $$ for the same minutes. All he would offer was $10/m for pcs-to-pcs but he then said I would loose my 15% discount.

I fanally asked when my cycle was over so I could call back to cancel.

I suppose I will try again tomorrow to see if I get a CSR who will offer something reasonable.

Make sure that they gave you the minutes agreed upon. I was offerred 650/3000, but when I called *4 I only had 650/1000. I called in to get the other 2000 minutes as agreed.

Well I called back tonight and had much better luck. Recap:

Previous:
$88 /month (includes 15% discount) for
1000 peak (8pm)
500 off peak -
all NON-long distance shared for two phones

Now:
~$82 / month (includes 15% discount) for

Phone 1 ($50)
1000 any-time minutes (8pm) (long-distance)
3000 N&W
500 pcs-to-pcs minutes
3 months of free web access ($5/month after that)
(No 1-st minute free) but I had her check, last month we used a total of 116 free incoming minutes; these plans more than cover it..

Phone 2 ($36)
500 any-time (8pm) (long-distance)
2000 N&W
500 pcs-to-pcs minutes
(No 1-st minute free)

1/2 off the next month's bill ($25 +$18) *.85 (for my discount.)
$100 credit towards a new phone (must activate in next 30 days, have it activated for 14 days to get credit.)

doing this we signed up for two year contract, with a $150 cancellation fee per phone... but I've been with them or four years already - not a problem.)

Thanks for this thread! It makes up for the countless hours I spent graze through this site

Well, I tried 4 times at *2, and got no results. They will not budge, or give me a plan, nothing, nadda, zero.

They said the ONLY way to get that 650/2000/8pm/500pcs-pcs deal, is If I had a PCS phone number that had that plan and they could compare. I climbed 4 levels of supervisors and got no where.

Either they are on to this, or not doing it anymore.

If someone feels they can help me, please email a pcs phone number with this plan, hell, I'd really appreciate it. I have 1000/6500 now, at $74.99, and its killing me.

Thanks,
Jim

yep. theyre on to this or something because i tried a few times for my dads account and they will not budge at all. I did it for mine already and got a great deal but when i tried the same rap they kept pushing me to cancel. Through several really nice CS folks they jumped straight to the cancel screen and started reading off that my account will be cancelled on the 20th (which forced me to do some comedy backtracking to get them to not cancel just yet).

The sad thing is that my dad was a person that the whole "retention" thing is made for. He's been a loyal customer since 98, he's recommended them to many friends and loves the service but he has a lemon of a phone and is disappointed at how few minutes he's getting from sprint when verizon and cingular have much more to offer per dollar. Oh well, I'll just try again tomorrow...

These retention plans were made for people who were truthfully calling to cancel, not for people looking for a better deal or long time customers (though long time customers should be rewarded). I've heard people have difficulty getting these plans in the past few days, probably as to many people have called in to get in on the *deal.* Sprint may be limiting or stopping this plan, and in the end the people who were truthfully cancelling will be hurt as they will not be given this rentention option. I received the $35.99 plan about a month ago when I called to cancel. If it hadn't been for the retention program, i'd be a verizon customer now, but the plan had it's desired effect and kept me at SprintPCS.

my mom works for IBM an gets a discount. Its only like 10 or 15 percent but she told me I can switch to a new plan - like 200 peak and 3000 offpeak, free long distance. My 2 year contract is up so I'm considering it, but it requires a $34 activation. Anyways after the discount, its $26.24.

I went to a SprintPCS store to look for a new phone since my POS Samsung 3500 is broken. Anyways, the sales guy told me I should wait on getting a new phone till June. By then , Sprint will upgrade their network and only the newer phones can take full advantage of it. Supposedly Sprint is upgrading their network to something called 3G, and it will be a whole lot faster. He gave me some fact sheet and it said the new network will be capable of sustaining a continuous 70kbps connection which means all information and stuff will in real-time with your phone. It said the maximum throughput will be 150kbps which is "over twice as fast as land connections." Also said you can check all your e-mail and goto any web pages. I actually just looked on Sprints website an saw this:

Link
Sprint's aggressive 3G deployment for CDMA2000, also known as 3G1x, will result in the eventually doubling of the voice capacity of the Sprint PCS network; up to a tenfold increase in data speeds from 14.4 kbps to speeds of up to 144 kbps; and increased battery life for handsets in standby mode by approximately 50 percent. By early 2003, Sprint will move to the second of its four-stage migration path with speeds of up to 307 kbps. Later in 2003, peak speeds will reach those replicated in the Sprint-Lucent data call-up to 2.4 mbps-with 3G1xEV-Data Only (DO). In 2004, speeds will reach 3 mbps to 5 mbps with 3G1xEV-Data and Voice (DV).

Wow, 5mbps? Thats faster than my cable modem. That'll pretty cool for you peopz with Palms and laptops can you can hook it up...

You can wait for 3G but just be aware that you'll be paying by the byte to use it. It ain't free.

Well, I ended up with the following plan.

One thing you need to do, is go through the CANCELLATION DEPARTMENT.

It also helps to have a PCS number with an active calling plan, this way they can compare and drop in the calling plan.

I ended up with:

650 Anytime
3000 Nights/Weekends
500 PCS-PCS Minutes
8PM Cut off.

$35.99 / month.

Pretty hip! Gotta love it.

Sweet. I just got 650/3000 for 35.99 and 500 PCS to PCS minutes. AND I got 130 dollars credit because I complained about my phone! Now to decide which phone to buy with it!

Before I had 250/1250 for 39! Hahaha!

I'm also looking to get a new plan, if anybody who got one of the $35.99 plans would send me their number, I would really appreciate it.

Thanks to all here I too am now a happy Sprint customer.
I tried on Sunday (yesterday) and must have gotten the "B" Team. I don't think she cared about keeping a 3.5 year customer. She offered a $30 credit and more minutes but no reduction in my overall fees. And that was that.
BTW my current plan is 50/500 anytime 1st incoming and usual Sprint stuff nothing special/ no contract. I have a shared phone so my monthly is $65 + tax yielding $78.
So I waited for Monday morning and tried again. This time I got a more sympathetic guy. He STARTED by telling me my phones were dinosaurs and gave me 2 $100 credits which he applied after we came to agreement, to go get new phones. He asked what my usage really was. Phone 2 is for my mom for lite/emergancy usage. He started there by seperating her phone on a $15/75min anytime rate with $1 overage, she'll never go over. Cool. Now for me.
He offered the $30/300/2000 rate then added 150 anytime/1st incoming/8PM nite/500PCS for free. 1 year agreement with $0 term fee! Yup a get out of jail free card!
Needless to say I'm a happy camper. (Wireless Web is $10 more/per because it's a non-std. rate. Not sure if I need it)
Summary:
1st Phone:$30
450AT/2000NW/500PCS
1st incoming
8PM nites
.25c overage

2nd Phone:$15
75AT
$1 overage

Both plans with LD

$0 cancel fee on year agreement.

Before $65 + tax
After $45 + tax

Now I'm off to Costco (B&M) here in L.A. They have two phones, the Sanyo 4700 and LG/Touchpoint 5250 both way below the web price at Sprint and including earbud and cig adapter. Also they are covered by Costco's VERY GENEROUS return policy.

I just got of the phone with Sprint and I thought I'd post my outcome as well....

I have a shared plan with my wife (SprintPCS Free and Clear Plan). I've been out of contract for almost a year and a SprintPCS customer since 12/97.

Original Plan:
500 anytime shared
500 each phone N/W
No LD / No PCS-PCS
$59.99 + tax/charges
Bill averages ~$75/month

New Plan:
650 anytime shared
4500 N/W shared
500 PCS-PCS *Big BONUS for me*
Long Distance included
1st incoming minute free
$50.00 credit towards a new phone
and FREE activation ($34.99 activation credit)
$69.99 + tax

Granted it's $10 more initially, but with the added perks I doubt I'll get hit with the extra $5-$7 charges that I normally pay each month. So it's really a lot better plan for a tiny bit of money.

BTW - Anybody out there have a Samsung 8500 they want to sell? If you bought a new phone with your service credit, PM me if you want to sell yours!

If someone could help me, I would like to get on the Sprint deal but would require a Sprint PCS number that has the 600 anytime and 3000 off peak for $29.99 a mo. (8pm off peak start time),1 free month of service and a new annual contract with a $50. cancellation fee or no contract will be fine too. Thanks in advance and you could reach me at realgq1@yahoo.com

Word of warning, if you are in a contract they will hit you with a cancellation fee. I was charged 100 bucks for changing my plan since I have a two year contract. They don't even disclose the charge, SprintPCS is a very scandelous!

No they don't. They must have made a mistake, or you told them the wrong thing. If you merely switched to a new plan, they will just make you sign up for a new 1-year contract. No fee. What did they do?
