There are 10 OD stores in Minnesota. All are at least an hour away. I was willing to travel anywhere in the state for one (or two), but none of the stores in Minnesota have them.

Calling for sure. One store and have them do a district check. Nobody's snatching them away (unless it's from the one store) if you have one store check every store.

I've don TONS of these deals and for some you go and some you don't. Chances were too remote on this one.

I want to thank mmarcuse for sharing this deal. I snatched the last one at the local store

$180
-$30 staple coupon
-$20 OD rebate
-------
$130 HOT!!!

This is even better than the Staples Envision LCD deal that I also got.

Anyone knows which LCD is better? Microtek has 300:1 contrast. Envision has 250:1. Other specs are quite comparable. However, Envision has received good reviews, whereas Microtek is relatively unknown to me.

Got the last one in MD. No dead pixels (was a display model). Hot deal, better than the staples envision one because the price is lower before rebate (150). Don't know about the quality, I like mine just fine.

guys i would be skeptical on the quality......the refresh rate isnt even given on the specs link someone put up...that means its bad and this would make it react really slow if playing anygames or anything, but if you into word processing, go for it, cant beat the price.....i just bought a 17" for $530

Just wanted to remind everyone - don't call! I called the closest store near me, and the kid put me on hold for a while. He then said they had one, but it was a display, and he couldn't sell it to me because the item wasn't on clearance. I didn't push, but instead called another store, and had them check all the local stores. He said they had a display at another store (not the first one). So instead of calling, I drive down there (~20mi) only to find that they didn't have one. So, I called a store in another city and had them check. She only found one, which was at the store that I first called :disgust:
So I called them back, and they said that they were holding it for someone else. :|

I went to the Plano Pkwy and 75 store in Dallas Saturday. They were out, but the computer said ther were 2 at the
Preston Park store. I went there w/o calling and showed the SKU number. The clerk told me they we popular today
and they only had one left. He asked another guy to go get it, but he said they just sold the last one. My guess is
they each had one in the back. The computer showed no more in the Dallas region.

I sure do miss the days of having "insiders" post here who could let us know which stores had them and in what quantities. That was the best! I got my first 15" LCD that way.

Here's hoping that someone steps up and posts some inventory (and doesn't get in trouble at work for doing so).

BTW, none in the Nashville (and surrounding areas). Also (this may be obvious - but I didn't see anyone else post it) none at the warehouse (no returns there either).

Just FYI.

are the staples coupons the codes or printable variety and is the od policy an every store thing or is it manager by manager basis. meaning if i walk in with the coupon can i force a competitor coupon match and once again does it work for coupon codes (i wouldn't think so) or just printableones?

thanks for the help

FYI: This monitor is actually made by Relisys. If you notice on the back it says "Model Number: TL500A." I thought this monitor looked familiar as I had purchased it from Fry's Electronics last year under the name "GEM." It was the same monitor except it did not say "Microtek" on the front. If you notice, there is a microphone slit on the upper left of the monitor. It is not used though. When I installed the GEM Windows 98SE recognized it as a "Relisys TL-500A." Windows XP just calls this one a "Plug & Play Monitor."

I don't know what kind of reputation Relisys has, but I've been quite happy with mine. Unfortunately, the monitor they picture on the Relisys webpage does not look like this one, but trust me...it's a Relisys.

I'm not sure about it being a Relisys. A quick search of the Relisys TL500A model looks different than the Microtek. However, maybe the panel is the same but the stand is different?

By the way, I play Wolfenstein on this thing and the pixel decay is really good. No trailers at all, it's good for intense gaming.
