Yeah, if you work in a hazardous place its gonna cost more to insure you. If you get sick and you aren't insured, don't expect someone else to pay for you. Its an incentive for people to get insurance. Otherwise, whats the point of insurance if you can just wait till you get sick to get some?

What you don't realize is that everything is hazardous to some extent. But who gives a fuck, right? If you're poor and *have* to work 3 jobs, all in places that have some second hand smoke, fuck you. You're a poor shithead who should die to survive, right?

I mean, really, who gives a fuck if 1 smoker can infect an employer of 100, thus eliminating 100 jobs from your possible pool of jobs. Since there are millions of smokers, each one eliminates gobs of jobs.

Then, since you can't afford insurance, since you work in a shithole, fuck you, die, right?

Your kids won't miss you, they'll just live on the streets or with your family.

I'd love this since it would kill smoking, drinking, and anything but the healthiest foods/activities/jobs instantly.

Lol yeah, its fine if that were actually viable, if the market called for that, I highly doubt it would though.

It's perfectly viable. Blood tests and weekly/monthly monitoring would give them the tools. You can tell a smoker pretty easily.

If the market could get away with it, it would. It's only the government that prevents them. Fuck big government.

If thats actually cost effective. seems like a lot of trouble though. I'm sure there would be plans that don't have that though, even if there were some did.
If it does actually save costs feel free to start an insurance company that doesn't do that but charges a higher rate, if people cared they would pay the higher cost.

For people like me it'd be completely cost-effective. It'll become more so as technology improves

Don't think you guys know dick about how insurance is underwritten and analyzed, nor how would the above 100% "free market" policies would affect you.

Obviously Patranus' insurance would skyrocket since he admitted to smoking. I could even turn him in to his insurance company so they could properly underwrite him.

All for it.

Agreed

24/7 monitoring. In fact, let's just RFID everybody up if you want insurance.

That's what the "free market" would want, right?

lolwut!?! That's just dumb.

as somebody who works out once a day and is only slightly outside of ideal weight and doesn't drink soda or eat fastfood, I'd love for all of you unhealthy fatties to get off of my dole. I'm tired of this socialist insurance bullshit. Pay your own way.
Even as a smoker I could run 12+ miles, and max my PT test no problem, but don't let reality get in the way of your internet attitude.

Don't give a fuck, statistically speaking, you're far more hazardous long-term. You cost ME money since I've never smoked a cigarette in my life.

I know right. He's not making a lick of sense. Weekly blood tests? That wouldn't cost billions a month now would it.

Wouldn't cost too much, you can detect the affects of smoking pretty quickly, you could probably develop a diabetes-like test monitored through the machine (they record blood tests now) that is uploadable online. The ankle bracelets can monitor this stuff too, I'm sure you could develop something pretty easily.

It'd cost smokers, fatties, and unhealthy people billions. It'd save us healthy people billions.

Maybe you should start. Glad I cost you money, I find that amusing.

Not hyperbole, statistically speaking, this is a very realistic situation. Those who have to work in those environments are lower paid and likely have to work multiple jobs to afford to live.

They do? That must be "statistically speaking", most bartenders/wait persons I know make decent money.

I'm awe-struck at your totalitarianism.

And with that you're probably using your Trolling express card too. Because no one, not even socialist234 is that vacuous. Though I could be wrong?

LOL! The last thing we need is a DMV/govt skilled phlebotemist to come at you with a large bore needle--WEEKLY! Next he's going to suggest weekly stool sample checks.

Where have I advocated government doing this? It's just what the "free market" would want.

It's only socialist insurance companies that allow unhealthy freeloaders.

Wow...just wow.

What? Did I break into your cognitive dissonance a little bit?

What difference is there between forcing companies to buy expensive chairs and force the body into correct posture and stopping people from working in a smokey environment?

The only difference is a smoker is inconvenienced. Poor little baby.

If there were two insurance companies, one that charged the same for everyone and one that charged based on how healthy you are, you'd go with the first wouldn't you?

^^^ look at this government take over of what people sit on!! Those people should just work somewhere else if they dont like the chairs they sit on.

What about this fool.

Harry McShane, age 16, 1908. Pulled into machinery in a factory in Cincinnati. His arm was ripped off at the shoulder and his leg broken. No compensation paid.

^^^^ he should of just not worked there eh? Free markets?

Good thing his son was next to him to pull him out.

Notice how quiet the peanut gallery got? Fucking pathetic worthless scum. Empathy is a human trait not seen in these low lifes. It requires a moderate amount of intelligence.

No, he shouldn't have worked there, he should have died of starvation on the streets instead.
