smoking deal at monarch on A64's combos

Do the combos come with a 3 year warranty like they do when you purchase the processor or mobo on their own or do you have to pay extra on the combos for more than the 90 day warranty it's showing?

Combos come standard with a 90 day Monarch Warranty, after that then you would deal directly with the CPU/MB/RAM manufactuers and their respective warranties. Alternatively, you can extend out the Monarch warranty as well.

I ordered a combo last wednesday I think...around the 15-16th.


I received it today. Didn't think to not tell them to install or check it. I figured it'd be a good thing with all the A8N-SLI woes going around to check my board.

Included HSF w/ the A64 retail box was installed already on the board. I removed it and they did a VERY nice job with the thermal paste. I don't know what they used, but it was spread very evenly and thin over the whole core. Not just a blob in the middle. Everything was packed exceptionally.

I couldn't be happier with this purchase.

I ordered a 3200+ and DFI NF4 SLI-D last Friday (3/4).
I received an email this morning that DFI recalled the SLI-D, and that Monarch would send me the SLI-DR instead.
Received the shipment just now, and it included the Far Cry DVD, the HL2 coupon, and the Napster thingy, as well as all the goodies and warranty information that comes with the SLI-DR - In the retail box/packaging and all that.

Big Ups to Monarch, I am one happy customer.

Summary: I got an SLI-DR for $189.

Purchasing has made some pretty decent price drops on the A64 939's, I'm trying to resist the temptation to upgrade myself!

How'd you request not to test? I don't see a comments box on the order form and when I called the guy said "That's the point of the combo, otherwise you'd just be ordering the parts." He might have misunderstood when I said I would be putting a different heatsink on and maybe thought I was a dumbass and was asking to have it tested without a heatsink.

How'd you request not to test? I don't see a comments box on the order form and when I called the guy said "That's the point of the combo, otherwise you'd just be ordering the parts." He might have misunderstood when I said I would be putting a different heatsink on and maybe thought I was a dumbass and was asking to have it tested without a heatsink.

I sent them an email. I got no response, but the parts came all sealed in their retail packaging, so they got it. I wouldn't have freaked if they tested it anyway.

Got a Neo4 SLI/3000+ w/HSF for $308 last week.

They have a cheap $8 A64 fan you can throw into the combo so they can test it. Prolly worth it for the peace of mind, if you're planning on using a different HSF when you install it.

Good point. I was mainly looking for quickness in shipping as I'm off til mid-week and my wife will be gone. I'd actually have time to build it without a million questions or having to get up every 5 minutes for something.
