Dell Small Business has a Stackable 5% off everything link, expire Tonight! Combine it with existing savings such as the 20% off on OptiPlex to get smoking deals!

OptiPlex Desktop P4-1.6GHz, 256K Cache, 128MB, 20GB 7200rpm, 3Yrs Parts + Onsite Labor, 16MB ATI Rage Ultra 128, NIC with Free Palm m105 PDA for $493 shipped free. Here is how to get it.

1) click through the 5% off link. (find it yourself, can't post here)

2) In the main page, choose Desktop, then choose OptiPlex, then under OptiPlex GX240 from $649, click on "Featured Systems" (important!), then under OptiPlex GX240 at $649, choose "customize it".

3) Choose 20GB EIDE 7200RPM, choose your free Palm m105 ($149 retail value) or Epson C40 printer, leave other options unchanged.

4) Update price and continue, Add it to your cart.

5) Apply a coupon code for 20% off (find it yourself). Total is $649 - 20% off - 5% off = $493 shipped free.

Edit: PM me for coupon codes.
Edit2: The 5% off coupon has expired. 20% off still valid. Now you can get upgrade to 8X CDRW Slimline for $59 more. so total is $649 + $59 - 20% off = $566 shipped with CD-RW, or $519 w/o CD-RW. No free PDA.

SirMack,

You should turn your Private Messages on, it's an easy way to communicate among fellow AT'ers

My total after tax came to $533.94 so I'm thinking about jumping on this but need some advice. Basically I want to run MS Flight Simulator 2002...would this system pull it off? Or should I buy the following:
AMD 1800+, MSI KT3, 256 DDR333, 20 GB WD 7200, 4x AGP Nvidia GeForce2 MX 3d 64mb, 16x DVD, 32x12x40 CD-writer, 56k modem, 10/100 nic, floppy, ATX mid tower case w/320Watt w/front USB for $689 +tax? *No OS included on this but I'll load Win98 that I have.
Thanks!

Huh, maybe I'm missing something, but it looks like the $493 version does not come with a CDROM. It costs $59 to add one and it's a slimline 24X. Price is $575.75 when you add the CDROM. Something you may want to consider if you order one.

Tardy007, Turn on your Private messages...

Lanyap, yea it doesn't come with a cdrom, so i reccommended to dealspree's visitors to pick up the 16X CDRW at OD for $29.99 AC AR...

So that may be a better way to go...

Lanyap, it's better to buy a cd-rw drive separately. $59 for a CD-ROM is too much, you can get much better deals almost every where. for example, dell home has the 40x12x48 Internal EIDE CD-RW drive w/Software for $109 - 10% off - $10 off = $88 shipped.

reason the 20% off didnt work was that the machine i created was ocer $1000 so it automatically added a $50 off coupon, and the 20% wont work with that code in the cart too. So I had to make the box a little under $1000 for it to take the code.

BTW the boxes you guys are ordering wont fit a normal CDRW in it, those little dells are 4" by 12" by 14" (ie tiny)

I think Mr. Lanyap was just giving people a heads up. i really don't like the idea of using a cdrw as the man reader in a system, but i guess that's just me it's really interesting to note how dell codes their upgrades though--that's nice to know.
and mr. Rockett, acoording to the minimum specs in this review, it should run it fine. i have to wonder with a baseline like that, would it even really scale to run the same on an optomized(sp?) system like the one you posted... i know sega gt and spiderman really do not take advantage of a system's extra hp. another thing is this machine(the dell) may be a directx monster--so it might run even better? good luck...
