Do you have to leave the store then go back in to use the gift card ? Or can you just use the card on other stuff your buying all in the same transaction ?

MP3 player works just fine but the FM radio SUCKS. So if you plan on using the radio, DO NOT BUY THIS.

That's kinda expected from small MP3 players. Your earphone cord acts as an antenna so using cheapie buds will do that to you.

For folks in Louisville, KY - I was able to pricematch to CC at St Mathews store, however was turned down at Outer Loop. Still, quite happy with the deal.

I would beg to differ. I've tried two other small(er) MP3 Players from Samsung and Creative which worked just fine.

Maybe you got a defective unit? I say that because I have this Sandisk player in my hand right now playing a local FM station. I tried many stations, and was very impressed by the quality. And yes, you need the earbuds connected (the wire acts as FM antenna). I have been playing with this player (!) since I bought it yesterday, and so far its all great.

No need to leave the store, but the gift card cannot be used in the same transaction (it becomes active once the transaction is complete). But, yes, you can split your purchase into two transactions and use the gift card for the second one.

That could be it, oh well I'll never know as we returned both of them.

To make this even hotter, they come with a "Free 26 Issues of Rolling Stone" card that you can use to get a refund of $12.97 by mail.

There is also a 10% off BB coupon flying around that can be used for this.

Looking at the ads today and bb still offers the $50 gc and CC still has it on sale for $65. I didnt get a chance to go yesterday so I thought I missed out.

Just got the deal. PM and GC & all. Later I used the GC and a PM to buy a Sirius satellite radio receiver, and received another GC. What an excellent deal!

THANK YOU!! I was looking for success in Louisville. I'm gonna try it later on this week.

Oh yeah, it just hit me! Can we buy the player, get the gift card for free, then return it and keep the card?! Or is the gift card on the receipt itself?!

The gift card is on the receipt. It would be unethical to do so regardless.

You could however sell it on Fleabay, get most of your $65 back and just pocket the gift card, I think if you where able to get 10 of these you could probably realize a profit of about $300-400 by selling the player and the gift cards, sweet deal, thanks again OP.

EDIT: BTW, I got coupons for 2 free months with Napster, 1 year of Rolling Stone and some audio books outfit deal w/my m230. If anyone wants 'em for cheap, PM me.

Currently they offer a 2 free month trial with Rhapsody To Go (whatever it is) and 5 free dl's. I really don't know what you get with this service which will cost you $15/month unless you cancel during the trial. Is Rhapsody Napster's service?

And yes, the $50 "giftcard" balance prints out on the large (7x9.5") receipt that they issue at the register with the PM. The "Rhapsody to Go" also is listed on this receipt as a "REG $34.85 while the Sansa is oddly listed at REG 94.99 with 30.00 match competition price disc. I'd much rather have a magnetic card than having to carry this receipt which looks like it will fade easily.

This deal was a GO for me since I would be PM'g some other items for presents at BB anyway and can spend at least $40 of the balance on two presents.

I agree, but if you'd be spending $ elsewhere anyways, why not PM some other items at BB and give it back to them since they're giving you a good deal of this item.

For example, I need to buy a $30 DVD boxed set and another couple $10 DVD's, so I can just go back to BB, use the GC $ and have them PM to the best pricing I can find. Saves gas too. I would have spend this money anyway and this way I get the OP item for about $20.

And after a thread re-read, I now realize that I might as well go back and recycle this deal to get one for my sis and kids before getting the DVDs! Thanks for the concept!!

Do you mean, you went back to get another one and they wouldn't do it?

I stopped at BB in Louisville, KY (St Mathews store) and they pulled ALL Sandisk 512MB players off the sleves.

Thanks OP. Don't know why I didn't head out earlier and do this. I ordered one from CC on-line this weekend and picked it up in store last night. On the way home from work today I figured I'd run by BB to check it out. Brought my CC paperwork and a Sandisk up to the Customer service rep (CSR) and the guy wrote me up for the PM no sweat. As he was completeing the transaction he said

CSR: "Oh, by the way, it comes with a $50 GC.

Me: Oh really? Cool. In that case, can I get another one?"

CSR: "Sure."

So, I went and got another one, paid abot $68 for the first one and the CSR said:

"Would you like to use the GC (the first one) toowards the purchase of he 2nd one?"

Me: "Sue, why not?"

So, the second one cost me about $15 plus tax.

Thanks again OP.

From what I read here I thought the receipt was the gift card... not an actual card.

I got ripped yesterday then, because they didn't give me a separate gift card. They did tonight when I tried to pay for a 2d item and gave the cashier the receipt I had and I was told the receipt just showed that I had been credited. Now it looks like I'm going to have to go in and get in a big fracus:|

edit: Issue resolved. Cashier thought he put it in the bag BUT... Anyway had to call amex to put a hold on it to be cancelled and reissued. Maybe by the end of Jan. Oh well, I've learned something about GC deals now. The receipt just shows that I had a $50 balance and I now know that any subsequent rcpts will show remaining balance.

For those of you in San Diego:

I went into the store in HWY 54 National City/Chula Vista, grabbed one and headed to the CS desk. Not only did she already know about the deal, she told me "you know you get a $50 gift card with that?", "Can I use it to buy another?" I asked. "Sure" she said, so I picked up two and have plans for the $50 gift card.

And for you others that just got a receipt, I recieved a regular gift card with my purchase.

This was the easiest price match I have ever done.

Thank you for the deal as I was also able to get two without any issue! And, these two seem to be a better choice than the HP+ iPod Shuffle I bought at OD for $69 last week on clearance.

Or for those of you who only want one....

Buy the palyer with a PM get the card. Buy a second one and use the card on it. Then later return the first player with the card of the second one. Should *probably* work. You get your one player for $15 net.

I just made this deal work at the Tacoma WA store. The girl who rang me up actually took my CC sales ad so she could get in on the deal after her shift. Thanks for the heads up OP!
