Thanks, I got one at the San Pedro store in San Antonio, TX. They had about 3 left. The one by Ingram didn't have any. I got to skip the huge line because of the pricematch. Awesome. And I actually found $50 worth of gifts afterwards too. Best Buy rocked today and the employee's were all nice!

Also I noticed at Circuit City, they have an $80 rebate on it if you signed up for a year of Real Rhapsody. Might be nice if it's something you'd do anyway. For me it would be a cold deal.

My total cost was $20.27, and it was easy.

Snagged another tonite and the returned the original one I had ordered from CC. I was wondering if the 1Gig ones are better as you can PM to CC and with the GC it works out to be about $50. Since I have 3 daughters it gets expensive. I'm not in to these MP3 players so I hope 512 meg is "adequate" for the average music lover!!!

Heh, went for the jugular, and PMd the 2GB model. $180 - $55PM (with 10% price diff!) - $50GC + TAX on $125 = about $85 for me. I got the 512MB model for my son when they had it for $40 on Black Friday, and it works well, so it seems the 2GB model is a fine deal as well. Now I still have to use the GC on some other hot deal...

Somehow, in the back of my mind I keep thinking that maybe deals like these are just a marketing ploy to move merchandise in inventory before it becomes devalued & outdated.

Flash ram pricing keeps dropping and I really don't think these things are worth more than $20 anyway at current tech levels. Sure, there'll always be people who pay full retail, which cost averages the sales for the merchandisers.

Oh, btw... Another unmentioned aspect to this offering is that in addition to getting the free GC/N2Go pkg, you can select 3 software packages from a specified selection (see online details) for $50 and this works irrespective of your GC selection - you can check this out by adding the items to your cart. YMMV trying this at B&M for in-store pu.

The shoe waiting to drop isn't the absolute size, 512 MB is certainly an "ok" amount for mp3, its lack of a memory expansion slot, video devices just around the corner, and post holidays every kid will know within a week whats "good" and what sucks (killing sales on some models).

Another potential extra on this deal would be if one can get the PM & GC at B&M and then use the GC towards online purchase of the 3 selected software packages with another player and GC. Thus the 1st player out-of-pocket is about $70 without any coupon stacking or PM to the CC lower price mentioned above.

Thus the subsequent online order would be 99.99 for player & GC/Nap2go, plus $50 for 3 SW titles, minus $50 payment with GC from B&M purchase brings you out-of-pocket online charge to $99 and then you get the 2d GC to offset down to $49 for the online purchases (1 player & 3 SW titles). But remember that your paid $70 for the 1st player, so total w/o tax is $115. This of course would only be viable if you were going to be buying any 2 of the SW titles anyway in the near future.

Not in its current version. The CC price was good till Xmas so you lost the PM on that advert. I'm not sure if the GC offer is still valid either.

I agree with what someone else said, the GC doesn't apply towards the purchase of the player, is not money, and must be spent in their store. I probably wouldn't be buying anything else at BB otherwise. So I don't count it towards the price of the player.

True, but you could have used it on the purchase of a 2d item and then give the 2d GC your got with the 2d purchase as a gift.
