I've gotten rebates back from Staple's in the past where the rebate exceeded the purchase amount . . . they don't care.

I don't know if $20 bones is worth the $150 charge on this month's statement though . . . especially since I have over $300 dollars worth of rebates ready to mail out tomorrow morning! It's all of you guys' fault . . . this darn forum

Sometimes it just makes me wonder, is those software that BAD that Staples just want to get rid of it even though it will take a loss? Anyway, it's a good deal in a way that you make money. But again, what the heck am I going to do with this expensive $150 software?!

Just to clarify on the issue of original vs. copies of UPC's

Anyone who is a veteran Staples rebater KNOWS that the Staples rebate center takes COPIES of UPCs as well as RECEIPTS, even if the rebate form SAYS you must submit the original UPC...

This is a FACT, and There are MANY Staples rebate "veterans" on these forums ...I know at Fatwallet you can verify this in posts over there regarding Staples rebates...

SO yes, it is TECHNICALLY possible to buy the item, xerox the UPC and receipt, send away for the rebate, then return the item. However, this is fraud and I do NOT advocate doing this...

Not only is it fraud, but you can get nailed for a federal offense here since you're using the US Mail to perpetrate the fraud. Question is, would you realistically be prosecuted? Do you want to take the chance? Do you relly want to be dishonest and compromise your self-integrity for a few measly bucks?

At any rate, I've bought Peachtree (2 different versions) and Simply Accounting and other software and made okay returns on them. For Peachtree, I bought an ancient copy of Quicken off of E-bay and sent the proof of purchase in and made an additional amount as an upgrade rebate.

This deal is real--just don't try to cheat.

Just so all of you know. The purchase price of the PRODUCT is still $150. The Purchase price of the order as a whole is $120. The order has other things like the paper clips and coupon. But the product price on the receipt should still be around $150.

A lot of rebates say "rebate amount may not exceed purchase price" in the fine print. Are u SURE u can get the entire $150 rebate?

Hey, does anybody out there have any experience using this Contact Manager software.??

The web site says there are over (4) million users, but I personally never heard of it.

Reviews I read said it's pretty good but expensive. I'd appreciate any comments.

Thx,

As far as I know, Staples ONLY accepts copies of UPC when the manufacturer offers another rebate in the same period of time and requires the original UPC. Otherwise, I can photocopy 100 of UPC and send 100 rebate requests with 100 different addresses to make $100,000. Is it logical?! I don't think so.

a newbie here...
seems very nice deal...
can anybody clear one thing up?
isnt it MIR, which means that the rebates from the manufacturer, not from staples?
I cant find the rebate info from staplesrebate.com...

Thanks. but the thing is the link seems just an advertisement.
on the link page, it clearly says Mfr. MIR.
Does it mean that the actual money will come from the Mfr, and which means that staples has nothing to do with the rebate?
What I am trying to go at is Staples seems a nice to place to deal with when it comes down to rebates. But i dont know about the manufacturer.... if they are known pretty good, i will do it.

all the items are waiting in the basket to be checked out....well...

This is not Staples rebate. It is MIR! Read carefully on the ad!

<< Must include "Triple Your $50" coupon. Must include completed $50 rebate coupon from INSIDE box of Maximizer 6.0 >>

Rebate coupon inside the box! Staples rebate form will not be inside the retailed box! Therefore Staples will not be responsible for the rebate. Just my 0.02.

That is what I mean. I think if this is a staples rebate, i think i am going to jump on it. from my experience, they are pretty good at giving my money back to me... if it is somebody else, i dont know....
hmmmmm....decision decision ....

What you could really use this item and rebate combo is for pushing some small items over $200 and using the $40 off $200. That would get you a $50 item for about $10 and you would still get the rebate for $150 legally with no problem (assuming Staples doesn't lose it or something).

It would be great for something like those Back-UPS that are on rebate.
