From what I have read this is a good card in general for gaming and "normal" pc audio uses. It's not for the audiophiles but be thankful because that would mean a much higher price. The usual complaint about this card is that the price is too high (that and drivers), this deal negates that one negative and when combined with new(er) drivers that apparently work in Vista you have a good deal.

Newegg has the retail X-Fi XtremeGamer Fatal1ty for $85.99 after $50 MIR. This one has the (useless) X-RAM and the red LED "F", otherwise its the same as the card listed in the OP. Kind of a big rebate, but Creative rebates are reliable, albeit a bit slow, in my experience.

I jumped on the Newegg deal as the Fatal1ty seems to have the front audio connector, you can see it in the picture of the card. I too have the Audigy 2 ZS so, hopefully, I will be able to still use my front break out box.

Hmmm, you may want to cancel, I don't think the Fatal1ty has the standard Azalia/Intel spec front panel audio connectors, but the non-Fatal1ty XtremeGamer does. You can see very clearly in these pics:

Pretty sure what you're referring to on the Fatal1ty is just the spdif output connector which is for a daughter bracket add-on for digital+coax outputs. Not 100% sure on this, so if the front audio connectors are a must-have might want to look into it a bit more.

The Audigy 2 ZS uses a cable with connections that look similar to what the Fatal1ty has.

The pins on the back of the card appear to be the same. The cable is similar to an old ide cable but slightly wider. I have the front end break out box that came with the original audigy 2 zs.

To save money Creative redesigned the Extreme Gamer card with no X-Ram and used a cheaper half height card.
The Extreme Audio is basically an Audigy 2 Value Edition with X-Fi slapped on the box.
Hope that clarifies things a bit.

Just an FYI, the older design is easier to mod. The smaller XtremeGamer uses some funky op amps.
