I went by this morning and grabbed my order. 2 of these are now sitting in my Jeep, for $189 each. They are in great condition - better than I expected (but I haven't powered them up yet). A guy from TeamExcess said he grabbed one for his desk there because these were the best monitors to come along in a while, and said he bets it wasn't used more than 6 months.

Can't wait to go hook 'em up.

Got mine. Suppperb condition. I'm going to burn it in tonight. Only slightly dirty in the front top, thats it. I realllly gotta look to find the almost none noticable Trinitron lines. No text issues, very clear and sharp *phew*

Well, went and picked mine up today. I have to say, this is a kickass monitor. Just finished watching Proof of Life on it. Now I just need a decent gfx card... My 8mb Matrox card that came with my Sony pc is looking a little dated. On mine, there was some very slight damage on the casing but nothing noticeable.

Wow, awesome deal - I was 1 hour late to get it @ the 189 price, me and my room mate both ended up getting one at the $209 price when they appeared back in stock for a day.

Just drove down there (we live 13 miles away) and picked ours up this morning - Excellent condition, One had a minor scratch on the casing, the other was in perfect condition.

Says max resolution is 1600x1200 @ 85 hz but it can go higher, i'm using it at 1600x1200 @ 100hz with no problems. Even worked fine running at 2048x1536x16 bit and up to 1920x1440@32bit. --but lower refresh rates at those resolutions.

text is sharp and clear, colors are beautiful...

Another good experience here.

I hooked up both of mine this morning, both look great. Setting about 70 on brightness and 100 contrast gives optimal colors and black blacks.

Manufacture date was December 1998 on both of mine, by the way. They definitely do not seem to have been used for 3+ years, though.

Picked mine up yesterday (must be a few of us San Diego folks in here) and it looks brand new. Manufacture date of 12/98. Only thing I noticed at all was at certain resolutions the extreme upper-left corner of the screen seemed to flicker ever so slightly. Could just be my hyper-critical eyes. I don't know much about monitor testing and calibration so if anybody has ideas they would be appreciated.

This is my first 17" + monitor and I'm never going back. Hottest deal I've gotten to date. BTW TeamExcess people were extremely helpful and friendly. I'd definitely recommend doing business with them.

Got mine today. Weighs a ton and there's a convergence issue at the upper left and lower right, but aside from that, I'm very happy with it. No moire and no cosmetic issues with the monitor. Even goes up to 1600x1200 at 85Hz with my video card...

Hey guys, both of mine came as well. They are both 1998, but look newer. They were cleaned up nicely. I tried flipping the cable on one of them whick removed the little flicker I was seeing. (don't ask me why). I am running in 1600x1200. How did you force it higher? WinXP won't let me.

I used this little tester thing to setup the screen. I thought it would be useful for ya'll:

After running the test I have contrast all the way up (100) and brightness smack at 50 on both. I did make a lot of geometry corrections and some to the moire cancellation.

After really looking hard I was able to find a small nick in the center of one of the screens. Even with that I would not complain at all with the price. Thanks for the deal!

Well, looks like we all got ours shipped out about the same day (unless you live in the area and picked it up).

I got mine today. I was definately a bit nervous, since I don't usually buy "refurbished" items. However, I have to admit, I am DEFINATELY pleased with the condition and quality of this monitor. It is freakin HUGE!!! About the same size as my tv , just a few feet away.

This was a truly AWSOME deal! I'm just glad I happened to be reading thru the forums at that time of day, because I know these sold out quick. So, I feel kind of lucky.

I got my monitor Monday and it has discoloration of the picture in both lower corners, much like you would see if you had strong magnets next to the monitor. The case and tube were in perfect shape; no nicks, scrapes or apparent damage. The people at Team Excess are handling this problem pretty efficiently. They'll pay for the return shipping and to get me a new monitor. One problem though: the Sony's are all gone. So I ask for advice...

They offerred an NEC E1100+ or a Viewsonic P810. I used to have the same NEC, and although a good monitor, I want something much flatter (like the Sony.) Does anybody know anything about the P810? Is it a good substitute for the Sony? I found some review but none comparing it to the 500PS. Any help is appreciated.
