SN26P SLI?

This recently was introduced by shuttle as the first SLI SFF system. Newegg has it for sale finnally http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16856101479. Check the PS that comes with the system.

How could a 350w PS run 2x7800GTX cards (im not even gonna start on 2xraptor drives+2 monitors, all of this could be configured on shuttles site)?

i've seen ppl run 9800 pros with dual hard drives and dvd burners on the old 200 watt PSU back in the day.

i've always felt that shuttle's PSU rating is skewed b/c their 250watters ran just about anything you threw at it

hmm, im thinking about running 2 XFX OC 7800GTX cards or maybe 2 eVGA KO 7800GTX cards eventually, just starting out with 1. I have seen picks of someone fitting in 2 BFG 7800GTX cards one with the eVGA heatsink and he said 2 eVGA heatsinks wouldnt fit at all (can someone confirm this), if so I will prob go with XFX.

Also for warranty info, would it void XFX double lifetime warranty or eVGAs lifetime warranty if I put them in a shuttle since it isnt a 450w ps?

I can't imagine what will the temps be like, SLI on a shuttle =\. The PSU is rock solid for sure. You shouldnt have to worry about it, i'm sure they designed it for SLi because the barebone comes with a SLI mobo.

6800's run hotter then the 7800's so if it works with a 6800U then it will work with a 7800GTX. Shuttle PSU's are also rock solid. Wattage is a misleading rating, like mhz for cpu's. Shuttle also says that the Leadtek 7800GTX's will fit in the SN26P.

Well i want to build it myself and as I understand when you order from shuttle they use custom heatsinks instead of fans, which i dont think i can get from newegg or someone.

Then again, I suppose if I'm spending a couple grand more on everything that goes in it, that's not _so_ bad.

I have an SN25P which has the same PSU as the SN26P. With two hard drives, a DVD burner, a Zip drive, an X2 4400+, and 2GB of RAM, I ran this system with a BFG 6800GT for about two weeks. I didn't think that the PSU could handle the load, so I went back to the 6200TC I had picked up after my first video card died. I want to believe that the first card, a BFG 660GT, died because it was too much for the PSU given the other components (I RMA'd the PSU before I RMA'd the video card.)

Since I really want to get dual-DVI back, I'm really interested in the power solution Asus has for the new SLI-in-one card where they use and external transformer to deliver PCI-E power.
