I got a 42-inch from Microcenter during the BF sale for the same price. Mine was an Olevia 542i.

However, the rebate coupon that I sent them 2 weeks ago (well within the qualifying period) isn't showing up on their web tracking system. Have to give them a call tomorrow.

Word of advice.
Wait.
This tine of the year it will take at least 6-8 weeks if not longer.
MC is very good at rebate.
I've never had one denied from them.

This means the laptop is $250.00 out the door...that is smoking hot, a brandnew Laptop...unless those instant savings include some type of subscription to AOL or something, that is piping hot. Nearest Microcenter, for me, is over 100 miles away, in another state.

To get that laptop on Black Friday, you would've had to have camped out at my local store by 10pm the previous day. Don't be surprised if this sale goes the same way, a $200 lappy gets a lot of people out of the woodwork.

Is the posted 42" LCD an Olevia? From the picture it is, but it does not resemble any of their current or past 42" models. Probably just an image they had on file then.

These are much like the BF sale of 2006. That is where I got the 42" Olevia for this price (although the $200 rebate coupon is still not showing up on the web site). But, for this, I lined up at the store at 3:30 AM, and even so, I was behind about 300 people. The first ten in the line had been camping out since 5 PM, Thanksgiving Day, and they were the ones who grabbed the laptops.

The question is, would I have to show up at 3:30 AM again to get any of these? Perhaps earlier, I think, considering that there were far greater numbers of these items (over 300 of the 42" Olevias, for instance) in the store for the BF sale.

What are your estimates?
