iirc they changed Prime Next Day to weight-based fees sometime earlier this year.

Walmart.com did the same thing. I ordered a t-shirt from them last week, and they said that they couldn't guarantee Christmas delivery unless I paid for 2 day shipping. I declined and went with the super saver shipping... and it arrived in 2 days anyway. Nice try, guys.

Yes, it is his gift to my daughter. Well, it will be from Santa via him. He lives way up north in Sweden, so we told my daughter he lives near Santa since he does have reindeer that walk through his backyard from time to time.
He was going to wait until May when he visits to give her a Christmas gift but figured that was lame so he wired me some funds to get something for her.

Hey now... if you order something on December 10th, it shouldn't matter what shipping method you use to get it there by the 23rd unless you live in Alaska or something. Instead of trying to upsell me on a shipping upgrade I obviously didn't need, they should be honest and say something like:

"There is a 98% chance your package will arrive before Christmas. If you want to upgrade that to 99.5%, upgrade to 2 day shipping.

I have Prime and just placed an order with Amazon. I just clicked through at checkout and didn't noticed that they had selected one day shipping ($25) till I saw the email confirmation. I had to go back in, cancel the order and re-order with the correct Prime, two day shipping.

Yea that'd be a nightmare to code and make accurate considering it'd need to be dynamic and calculate based on inventory in all Amazon warehouses, where specifically the item you want is, where you're shipping it to, what method of shipping and the average delivery time from that warehouse to your local hub. Just a lot of variables to consider.
