SNES Classic coming out September 29th for $79.99

The basket price for that transaction was $5,055.99: same buyer as the N64. The thing is, I got that N64 last month for less than the cost of the included Everdrive 64, which enabled me to sell my Ultra Everdrive 64 Deluxe in the same round of auctions for $180.

I did "invest" a $150 UltraHDMI kit to make that N64 worth $525, but it had already paid for itself with that Everdrive 64.

I hope the Facebook guy who sold me that console doesn't mind me turning around and selling it a month later. I really did intend to keep that as my personal console! I needed to set the bar high before I mod and sell all my other consoles and none of them compared.

Is there a 3rd party adapter for the controller port nintendo uses for these classic consoles that converts it to usb? 8bitdo knock offs are all well and good, but if we could use these snes or nes classic controllers with our raspberry emulators it would be cool.

Was going to camp out in the cold at Best Buy tonight but called Walmart and apparently they're doing a midnight release so I'll probably check them out first. Waiting in store beats waiting out in the cold, plus if I miss out I can still have BB as a fall back option.

I'd get one if it had Chrono Trigger and Tales of Phantasia. The game selection is nice otherwise, but it sucks that they are limited to what they ship with.

Well for the record, apparently the same hack that was done on the NES can be done on this. So you could technically put those games on it.

Still...I am standing firm lol. Even with as many nostalgia buttons this hits for me, I don't need it. I have like 5 other ways to play snes games should I choose. Heck, I just played through DQ4-6 on 3DS. The ONLY reason to get this is to box it untouched in a closet and wait for retirement to sell it.

Then again, I will be out and about with 3-4 walmarts nearby...hmm...

Did you read somewhere that someone actually tried it? If so, that's great

Nintendo just needs to leave the USB data pins disconnected internally and it would stop all hacking without physical modification.

I read there will be more available for this launch than all of the NES Classic Editions sold. If that's true, you're definitely getting one!

My former co-workers at Best Buy are telling me that they will hand out tickets between 7-8am for the total quantity that they have on-hand. At least you'll know before 10am whether you'll get it or not.

My wife took tomorrow off to get early to target to grab one since he pre-orders were literally gone on seconds.

I've never played Super Metroid or Castlevania IV so I'm definitely excited for it.

Got in line at my local Walmart at 10:30 last night (7th in line). They had 20 available and they were gone in 15 minutes. Nearly half of them went to Walmart employees. Sounded like all of the area Walmarts received between 18-30 each.

My fiancée went to our local target, they had 39 in stock and she was #20. More people were in line than available by 6am.

Just for the hell of it I called a couple other Walmarts and Targets at 9am to see if they had any more and everything sold out.

So Best Buy was only holding the ticketed ones until 1:00 (3 hours after opening). I was able to snag one at that exact time just now cause someone didn't come back for it. I guess they got one from elsewhere. Heads up to those in Central/Mountain/Pacific time zones, anyway.

Finally got one at toysrus. They had less than 10 left around 10am this morning. Called Walmart last night asking when they would be available, was told midnight, was told there was already a line. This was at 8pm. Went out early this morning. Waited in line at Gamestop and the person in front of me got the last one. Went over to Target, clerk said they had none left even though I could see 2-4 behind them under the counter. Asked about the ones behind the counter, they played dumb and said there wasn't any there, the box was in plain sight... Went over to toysrus, was a mass of people in the electronics section looking for them. Walked back up to the service desk, asked about them, got my ticket for one and checked out.

Both Walmart and Gamestop said they were getting a lot more come next week.
