I'm definitely getting or when though I own many offers the games on other platforms. Plus an unreleased Star Fox 2.

We know this will sell out immediately and be sold out long after. I've been trying to see if it's available for preorder on Amazon but no dice. Might have to go to a game stop to make sure I can get this thing since I was never able to get get an NEW Classic and don't want to pay $200 for one.

Basically if it's hardware from Nintendo, expect it to be hard to get. Look at at the Switch, still hard tho get in many areas. That's why I'm wanting to pre-order this

I grew up with the SNES, it will be very difficult for me to resist trying to get one (I do mean trying to).

The 21 games they included for it are good choices, most of them no-brainers. I'm happy to see them. However, I feel like there should have been 35 to 40 games, at least. I could easily mention about 50 must plays for the SNES. There's no Turtles In Time (that one hurts, it's my favorite Beat 'Em Up on the SNES, and one of the best ever made), no Illusion of Gaia (one of my favorite RPGs on the system), no Donkey Kong Country 2, which I found to be better than the first (but at least the first is there). And of course most likely due to licensing and copy rights shenanigans there's no Lion King or Aladdin (Disney games). I would have also liked Zombies Ate My Neighbors, Earthworm Jim and Mortal Kombat II. Not to mention ActRaiser or even Mega Man X2 and X3. I could go on like this for weeks.

But, anyway, I'd still want one... but I won't get one. Not because I'm not happy about it, but simply because it WILL be impossible to get one. It will definitely be sold out faster than the NES Classic, and re-sellers will drain supplies dry in a matter of a few days.

I haven't really dove into it in a long time. I thought there was a beta of Star Fox 2 floating around the net. Are they saying they actually went back and finished the game? Also...I'll skip it. I've been emulating these games for years, and that is all this is. Zero reason for the limited game list.

Agreed. They gave away so much free money with the Nintendo Classic. I mean they already own the IP, and they instantly sold out when new stock arrived. Such a "typical" Nintendo "what are they thinking?" moment.

I've called Gamestop and Best Buy and have been checking Amazon all day trying to preorder because we all know that's how it's going to be.

I'd love to be a fly on the wall in one of Nintendo's business meetings. I bet it would roughly go like this:

Executive: "Sir, our estimation is we can easily sell around 20 million units worldwide, with retailers around the world guaranteeing orders for the entire production. With a street price of $79.99, we also make $50 in profit for every unit we ship. It is great publicity and will help bring back customers back to Nintendo who grew up playing games on our systems".

CEO: "No, easy profits be d@mned. Publicity? We don't need publicity.....we're Nintendo! We instead need to create our next under-powered odd console that is completely different than all other competitors, and if any 3rd party game developers want to make games for our system, we will make it difficult and expensive. Let's just manufacture 2 million of the retro units ensuring they only go into the hands of re-sellers on Ebay".

It's sad to mock them so much, as I grew up with them, but they make it REALLY difficult to like them much anymore with the majority of their odd decisions.

It seems like they saw the success of the NES Classic and said "whoops we priced this too low", they didn't want to make more and just sell them at $59.99, so they came up with a new one to sell at $79.99. I doubt they would have had a favorable reaction if they just increased the price of the NES Classic. Although they didn't get one by discontinuing it either.

Amazon UK is out, but the US isn't up yet. I missed out on the UK variant by a hair. I prefer the look of it honestly and was disappointed that not only did I miss out on the better looking version but am left to still stew over refreshing constantly. God I hate Nintendo sometimes.
