Hmmm... there was a new TV Funhouse tonight. I remember seeing the first one with jacko talking about how much he liked "soft marshmallowy boys" and how he tried to catapult himself into boys' swim at the YMCA but instead got a flag pole up the arse. It was hilarious but I guess it was too over-the-top.
The one they substituted was hilarious too though. Pat Robertson (voice dubbed by Darrell Hammond) talks about a new Christian cartoon called "Harry the Embryonic Cell", which details Harry carrying on a normal office job (replete with mini suit and tie) and doing better than his fully grown, human counterparts. In the climax, Harry has Jesus heal mean old Mr. Parkinsons, who wants to harvest Harry for research. Having been saved, Mr. Parkinsons renounces his homosexual perversion (which Robertson claims is the root of all physical illness) and that's all folks.
Robertson then goes on to make more commentary about homosexuality, putting his foot ever further into his mouth, when the station (Family Channel) cuts to a "Technical Difficulties" screen and announces that Robertson has gone fishing. Then they resume "Regularly Scheduled Programming", which is Britney Toons. Britney (voiced by a spot-on Mya Rudolph) teaches toddlers how to make a thong out of underroos, and in her "Straight Talk with Britney" segment, explains how kids as young as eight shouldn't let their boyfriends pressure them into having sex, but that if they can't resist the urge (breaking into song) that "there's lots of body parts that you can use without making Jesus mad". As she begins to list them, it cuts to Britney's "Technical Difficulties" screen.
A lot of detail, I know... I just got done watching it five times (thanks, ReplayTV). STVFH is usually always my favorite part of any show. Robert Smigel is a genious.
