Find a not too steep groomed slope, what you want to eventually do is always have same leg in the front, doing S sweep type curve down hill, where you are switching from front to back edge. You don't want to be going in Z "falling leaf" pattern where you go right then left only on back edge. It is safer, but you will tire your legs out quickly this way, and you will have to relearn later. You also don't want to be turning too fast, sort of let the board edge do the turning and apply corrections. If you are going too fast, go further to the side before changing directions. Be relaxed with your knees always bent. And yes, you are going to fall, a lot. So if you don't want to fall, stay at the base and drink coffee.
