Hell, I?ll be voting for him not because he?s black or white, but because McCain is no conservative. I judge people by their actions, only the racists will play the race card.

so, because McCain isn't conservative enough... you'll be voting for an outright liberal?

You may not have noticed but conservative is the bad word and being liberal is good.

That's like asking me if I want the Republican Party stained once again by pro-government (Patriot Acts, Wiretapping), pro-illegal, and complete retardation (war blunders). The answer is no, let those traits belong to their proper owners.

The party will stand for the people against the government, or it should burn.

read the quote I was replying to.

I just don't understand how someone could justify voting for a liberal because the other guy isn't conservative enough.

I mean, I'm sure there are reasons that have nothing to do with the issues and more with personality/whatever, it just makes no sense to a cold-hearted cynical issues voter

Didnt you know? Bros before hos.

I actually would have prefered Hillary to win the nomination, she would probably be easier to beat in November, and if not atleast she isnt as anti-gun as Obama, which is a pretty fucking sad thing to say.

Obama has said he would want to ban all semi-auto rifles, and concealed carry.

Hillary so far "only" said she would push for a new assault weapon ban, which I'm definately also against.

I figure well even if Hillary would win in November people still dont like her, and would vote agains ther anti-gun laws. What I fear is that if Obama gets in, his cult of personality would get democrats in congress to just go along with whatever he wants.

I'm voting for McCain in November.

Uh-ohs, I think we are headed toward another Republican presidency. It's doubful either of them can obtain the necessary number of delegates, supers included, to get the official nomination.

This is a huge problem for the country.

Teh angry white men might actually be needed to pick some cotton.

America would've picked the woman candidate if she was hotter.

Maybe one of these MILFs or GILFs.

The Hildebeast is too ugly to get elected.

The truth is the OP's comments are very much relevant and on target. If this campaign has shown us anything, it's shown us that sexism is MUCH more tolerated in this country than racism (perceived racsim, even).

Constantly here and elsewhere I have seen people criticize Hillary for her looks, her voice, being a bitch (a common perception of powerful women), for not being sutable to lead the country because our enemies will see us as weak with a woman leader, etc. All of these things are based in sexism but nobody is offended much by them.

Now imagine the same types of criticism against Obama based on him being a black man. I could give you examples, but I won't because the mere mention of any would immediately have people screaming "racist" at me. Obama is basically immune to any type of critism that could in any remotely possible way be construed as racism.

So yeah, racism >> sexism. It's much easier to attack and demean a woman than a black man.

What I find sad is that women in this country cannot get behind a woman candidate. Blacks have rallied behind Obama almost universally. You would think that women would like to see our first woman president, something to show their daughters that women can do anything in this world. The unfortunate truth is that women are mostly sheep and followers of their men, and they are frequently very petty and critical of other women.

We may never see a woman president.

Man, you are way off. it is unfair to assume that people do not like her b/c she is a powerful woman. She is a powerful woman, but she is also a bitch. As oppose to m wife who is a powerful woman but is not a bitch. Power and bitchiness are not the same thing and are not perceived as the same thing by the voters for the most part. People are very familiar with clinton and her striving to make a name for herself and then pretending to give a damn about the country... as well as her sordid past. That is how she became known as a bitch.

The truth is, if she were truly a powerful woman, she wouldn't have needed to be a bitch. when one is powerful, they do not desire to have power over others. their own power is sufficient for them. Only the weak seek to become powerful.

edit: also, sometimes the powerful come into powerful positions naturally or as part of their passion. This does not describe HRC as she has striven to gain power. There is nothing natural about it- this is another thing that is very unappealing about her- her seeming thirst for power, not the power that she actually has.. which is little to begin with.

There is only one solution: nominate Oprah for President.

Then you can't accuse Americans of being racist or sexist.

After morph's statement, he is right it is acceptable to be sexist in this country but racism can get you fired immediately or demonized for almost nothing at all. I've heard plenty of comments about Hillary that are silly like how women don't age well and she'd be a bad face for the gov because of that.

I still think she is losing because she's overall not seen as such a good candidate, but I must concede that race/sexism is having some part in this election to at least some people.

Yeah, Obama would never approve of playing the victim...

So the whole arguement we have here is that voters in the democratic primary are obviously sexist and racist and it makes no sense that racism didn't win the day. Which hardly explains the piss poor showing by all the other democratic candidates...who all were rich old white dudes last time I checked.

And its kind of hard to blame sexism when women hold a solid majority of democratic voters.

I thought it was funny when I think it was Pabster linked to an article called "Feminists perplexed by Clinton losing". It was like they were annoying that all the women weren't blindly following their cult mission.
