I got stopped once while I was riding my bike. I lived on a one-way street with a bike lane, but the street went the opposite direction that I needed to go. I would typically ride up the lane for one block, then cross over to another street.

One night a cop saw me as he was driving by and said, "Get in a bike lane!". I responded, "I am in a bike lane". He yelled at me to pull over and gave me a free roadside bike safety lecture as he was running my ID.

I got pulled over while it was dark out because I didn't have lights or a helmet. Neither were a law so nothing happened but a stern talking to and running my ID.

I had to stop riding a bike however because as time passed I could sense I was transforming into a total biking douche like the rest. Now I'm back to a normal decent human with only some minor side effects that have lingered.
