A big :thumbsup: to this!! Here's a sub by Monitor Audio, that's right in the OP's price range. My only concern would be where do you send it if it breaks? Monitor is a British company, but they make some good stuff. Unless you go used, I don't think you will find a better sub for $300.

You should also check ebay, and craigslist. Ebay has quite a few audio dealers that sell stuff there. There is nothing wrong with getting a used sub either, you just have to do your homework.

I'm not so sure that's the best way to go (ASW100 specifically I mean... I have no problem buying used stuff and both my subs are used). I looked briefly for ASW100 reviews and didn't see much about it. I know there are Monitor Audio dealers in the US so I think you could take it to one of them to find an authorized repair facility.

I'd have a hard time recommending that sub which appears to be aimed at keeping a very small footprint (which doesn't seem to be a bit concern for the OP). Not that specs are the be all and end all of sub performance, but

I should also point out that the Elemental Designs guys are also completely on the ball when it comes to support, which is not something to be taken lightly with expensive gear.

I have the R50s as well, with the BIC H100, they sound awesome, I cannot wait to get a good DVD and try it out. Lotsa clean sound coming from them.

PFFT don't worry about the pics, you do NOT want to see my R50s right now until I clean my room.

I also have the R50's and love them. I also have a smorgasbord of drivers in my system. The aforementioned R50's, Boston VR10 Center Channel, and 4 Klpsch Quintets (surrounds) to complete the 7.1 system. Oh and my substage is self made, 2 x 12's, 8.0 cubic feet tuned to 20hz....yummy...pics below

I've gotten used to it...was weird at first. The WAF definitely isn't very high lol. I don't have enough space on the second shelf to put it. THat's where the Wii and the H/K live.
