How about the leader of another one of the worlds powers, China.
No one makes fun of him. Gee must be because he's smart and eloquent... everything Bush isnt... right?

Or, maybe... just maybe... it's because NO ONE (whether journalists, party members or peasants)
is allowed to ask the Chinese president a spontaneous question that he doesn't have pre-scripted answers for.

Two things,

1) that incident is not related to this thread.
2) It seems to be a very good possibility that it was the Chinese themselves that planted the bugs, not the Americans.

What does everybody expect? We are talking about China! Besides, Bush is not an idiot, he's just a little more down to earth than we (and the world) are use to in a President. That's not a bad thing, actually it gives me some hope that any natural born American can still run for president and get there (if you take away the facts that his daddy was president, he raised more money than any other candidate for advertisements, his brother was governor in a key state, and the supreme court picked him...those facts aside). The point is you don't has to have to be overly articulate, just smart enough to pick good people and delegate, delegate, delegate.

Thankfully the President of the U.S. would rather answer questions on his own and make a few mistakes but get his message out there then follow your's and Jiang's example.

It isn't hyprocrisy. We do support and try to advance democracy throughout the world but anyone knows that it is easier to influence your friends than it is your enemies. You don't talk to your enemies...you glare at them from a distance...or you kill them. This would kind of defeat the purpose...especially since they can kill back. China, hmmm, that's an awful lot of bodies.

You talk to your friends and friends seek each other's approval. You can change your friend's mind quicker than you can change an enemies. The only person that can change an enemy is the enemy himself - if that ever happens.
