So, let me get this straight..could I *BUY* things on Wednesday, then return on Friday and "re-buy" the items so that they qualify for the rebates? Or is that considered "not cool" by the stores (e.g. Officemax, Best Buy..etc..)

Just wondering how early I'm going to have to get up on Friday.....

I wish you guys would talk more about WHAT you were going to buy then when you were going to get up in the morning.

Looking for XBox buys, going to get one for my dad. Looks like either show up early at Target (for 10%) call the EB Manager that I know and try to get him to PM that for me...or perhaps the Circuit City deal if we knew exactly what the 'starter kit' is - probably crap.

I also want some new Calvin Klein underwear. Anyone seen that on sale anywhere?

I think the term was originated by the salespeople, because it is a seriously sucky day to work and NO ONE in the store has the slightest hope of getting off that day unless they call in temporarily dead. Even then the store manager will want to see a death certificate as proof. Hence the term "Black Friday."
