Looking for a good stable board that I can O/C a E6600. Will be running 1 EVGA 320-P2-N817-AR GeForce 8800GTS 320MB. Also a Freezer 7 Pro for cooling.

P965 or 650i or 680i?? Every time I think I found a board I read that someone is having a hell of time getting it set up.

Would like something easy to get going outta the box. Most likely never going to use SLi. Just wat to update my current system to something for the next 2 years. Not worried about cost, just don't want to spend a week getting it stable.

Really appreciate any info. Thanks.

I really like my P5W DH Deluxe. No problems with setup and very stable. I prefer Intel chipsets because Nvidias always seem a little quirky. That's my personal preference, I'm sure there's tons of people that love Nvidia. P965s are good also, but I think people like the DHs a little better for the E6600.

I'll agree with the suggestion above on the P5W. I personally would look at the P965 or 975X chipset and go Intel on Intel. With an e6600 you don't need to reach real high FSB to o/c it either.

Gigabyte GA-965P-S3 (or DS3)

And yes, definitely get a board with an Intel chipset.

Depending if you want to do SLI in the future, you may want to look at 680i chipset.

I've been happy with the Asus P5B-E. (965 chipset) Running similar set-up (E6600 and EVGA 8800GTX). Stability is been great using Vista. No OC yet, but thinking of going to a modest 3.0Ghz.
Set-up was very easy (this was my first build). Only complaint is the cd shipped had programs that need to run in compatibility mode (with spotty results), but I've found everything I need at asus.com
Would mos def recommend this board if you're sure SLI upgrade is not in your plans.

No Intel chipset boards will do SLI, only nvidia chipsets. The 975x chipset supports ATI crossfire, but not SLI.

Gigabyte GA-965P-S3
do you run that board?

I have used that board in a number of builds for others.

Trust me, get a board with an Intel chipset. IMO, you cannot build a more stable system than one with an Intel cpu and Intel chipset.
