...send back my hard drive.
Yesterday I noticed my computer got really really slow (I was using IE), so I shut it down normally. Hit the power...hard drive spins up and goes "click click." Uh oh. Weird thing is it actually loads windows XP - but it took 10 minutes to load (literally). Windows is reeeealy slow grabbing anything of the hard drive, but all hard drive utilities say NOTHING is wrong.
So I try the freezer trick. Booted up and drive works fine. Windows detects my hard drive and installs some drivers (or something). Still working fine after several hours. Drive is warm now.
Dilema - warranty is up on Dec 14. I'm planning to let it run all day tomorrow and see what happens. So is it worth paying shipping and going through the hassle for a product that I can buy for $40? Any foolproof tests that will tell me if it's bad?
