Looks justified to me. The dude lunged at her even after she exhibited her firearm to him. Once she took the rifle she didnt shoot him right away but gave him a chance to make a choice. He could either leave her alone at that point or continue to attack her and face the consequences.

He chose wrong.

Problem with that idea is she would be vulnerable to a knife attack as she tried to get in the car and this dude showed no signs of backing off even AFTER seeing her brandishing a rifle, F that, he got what he asked for, if your that dumb to continue after seeing the rifle he deserved to die.

I caught this on the local news last night (and I rarely watch the local news) and saw that they interviewed a nephew of the guy. The nephew,and I quote, almost verbatim: "She took an angel away from me today. I hope she knows that." Uh, your angel tried to attack her with a knife. smh.

I am very confused. She knew he had a weapon to begin with which is why she pulled the rifle (assumption) but in doing so she turned her back which tells me she did not feel a sense of imminent danger. I don't get why she pulled out a rifle and then voluntarily stepped towards him and got well within striking distance. It makes no sense.

I would think the natural reaction would be to tell the person to get back or take a step back yourself. If they take a step towards you and close the gap you pull the trigger...you do not voluntarily get closer to a person with a weapon...gun or not.
