Just got my shipment yesterday afternoon. I like the scanner itself. Slim, sleek, and small. USB cable is too short however, and scans are fast in 150 dpi mode, but quite slow in 600 dpi. The software sucks as far as I can tell so far, but I'll give it another try over the weekend. I only had a few minutes to play around with it.
The printer is marginally acceptable (only as a free printer I should add). Shipped with only one "economy" color cartridge. No black cart., but the printer can work with either one or two cart. which is pretty cool. Print quality is okay for text, but don't plan on printing photo quality graphics with this tyke. The USB cable, as others have confirmed, was shipped loose inside the big white box and is decent length - 6-foot I believe as compared to the scanner cable which I think is 4.
Installation was a snap for both, but just make sure you read the instructions first. The printer had to be hooked up first before installing the software, while it was the opposite for the scanner. I always thought for USB devices, software is installed first, but guess not.
Overall first impressions; I'm satisfied with the package seeing especially as it may be free after rebates, but as I only had a few minutes to test, I can't say for sure if it's worth it to you to gamble for that Apollo rebate to pay. (It's worth it to me since I actually need a printer. My old one just died a few days ago.)
