What a play from Bama from the SEC championship game.

FL player stole a pass from a Bama player's hands for an INT then ran....another Bama player tacked that FL player from blindside and caused a fumble in which a Bama player recovered. The FL player was down and still down. After that play, Bama scored on a wide open pass for the lead of 14-7.

Not a fan of the team but that's how you play championship caliber level. Never ever give up. Play every down like your life depends on it. That hit would be on ESPN Sports Center later for sure.
Reading that caused my PTSD to trigger. Kareem Moore for the Redskins intercepted Drew Brees, and then Robert Meachem forced a fumble and the Saints scored afterwards.

What's with the Saturday games? Anyway, Badgers recovered and won in OT. Packers are ahead so things are going as well as they could.

They've done it the last couple weeks of the regular season for a long time but I thought it was only after all the college games (aside from bowls) were over so there was no TV conflict.

I believe it's the NFL's antitrust exemption that prohibits games on Saturdays. The Congressional exemption lists a hard date when, presumably, the collegiate regular season would normally be complete. This year the collegiate regular season is going longer than usual due to COVID so there is overlap as the NFL waited for the antitrust date to pass and then it's fair game, regardless of the NCAA's status.

I feel really good for Josh Allen.

The roasting he got from the media after playing a bad half in his first playoff game last year was completely unwarranted. I wish some of those assholes would finally be taken to task for the crap that comes out of their pieholes.

Most of these guys are akin to the drunk guy at the end of the bar who has no friends and subsequently gets louder the drunker he gets.

Major props to Allen for putting in the time and work to get better.

He keeps this up for years and dare I say, he could be mentioned with the likes of a certain Steve Young.

I haven't seen him THAT much, maybe 3 or 4 games in the NFL, maybe 2 in college.

He comes across as a faster Elway to me. I know that's really high praise and I don't expect he'll be the second coming of Elway but something strikes me similar.

I am not really that impressed with the Packers, but they seem to find a way to win. Same for the Saints, actually, although Brees has to come back strong from his injuries for them to get far in the playoffs, I think.
Seems like the class of the NFL is in the AFC for sure, both now and in the next few years. They have the strongest teams now, with by far the best stable of up and coming young quarterbacks.

I wonder if the Saints are rushing Breesy back in the hopes of jumping over the Packers for the wildcard week bye. Not entirely convinced the Pack will beat the Saints again, even if the game is at Lambeau Field. More recent playoff games at Lambeau have not been a lock as they used to be...

Just reaching the Super Bowl would be a successful season for the Packers, but I really don't want them to get throttled by the AFC champs haha. Losing the SB has to be the most bitter feeling in pro sports, but it's still a better outcome than 30 other teams.

Warms my heart seeing Belichick nearly out of the playoffs.

WAS going to post Brady/Tampa losing too but they've tied it up ... man are the Falcons chokers!

Shades of the Super Bowl, Atlanta managed to blow a huge lead and lose again. Have to admit that first down call at the end of the game was marginal at best. Tampa probably would have won anyway, but I hate to see a game decided that way. I was interested to see if they would sneak Brady for the couple of inches or kick the field goal to get a 7 point lead.

Several college bowl games are canceled this year because a lot of teams are opted out/staying home/self ban such as LSU.

Bowls canceled this year (so far)- Birmingham Bowl , Guaranteed Rate Bowl, Military Bowl, Independence Bowl. Stay tuned.

Canceled for 2020, so far:
The New Mexico Bowl
The Pinstripe Bowl
The Sun Bowl
The L.A. Bowl
The Frisco Bowl
The Guaranteed Rate Bowl
The Independence Bowl
The Birmingham Bowl
The Military Bowl

Other games canceled: Several bowls were never scheduled for this season due to the Covid-19 pandemic - Bahamas, Fenway, Hawai’i, Holiday, Las Vegas, Quick Lane and Redbox.

22 teams have opted out of bowl games, some of those ended up not being bowl eligible anyway.

Nice win for the Browns tonight

Is that a completed list or more heads will roll later?

Speaking of being bowl eligible, I thought this year the rule of 6 wins or more is not applicable this year because of the virus.

Good for the Browns, from the worse one just a few years ago to playoff bound.

The link i've been using for bowl games has that list. Some were just added on "selection day" it says. Whenever that was earlier in the week.
I assume some games could be cancelled anytime the way things are going around the US.

That i don't know. I assumed it was still the rule as everyone was making a big deal if Ohio State was going to get enough games in.

Just as I thought. No more 6 wins or more this year - NCAA waives college football bowl win eligibility requirement (usatoday.com)

I think people dissed at OSU because they played less games this year than other teams such as Bama, ND, Clemson, therefore, they had lesser chance to lose. I know Florida head coach said something about rewarding for teams with less game played.

Are you a Browns fan? If so, Christmas comes early this year, eh?
