With respect these are forums not an English school, reason I post here is to do with computers and software in general not how or the way I type, yes I get lazy here with my punctuation but then don't we all?

I get my main point across.
Now stop derailing this thread .

Getting back to Win10 and the MAIN topic in hand, I think it will be interesting to see what Win10 SR1 does to the general improvements and bug fixes.
I guess we will have to wait and see.
Can't I still be curious? I don't think you are suggesting that I make an entirely different topic dedicated to your posts, are you? I didn't correct your comma usage or suggest that you use periods, so I don't know why you likened my post to "English school." Mentioning old typing classes with mono-spaced typewriters has little to do with electronic communications or English class.

As I said, I was not criticizing you but it sounds like might still think I am. I am not. I am genuinely curious. If you don't have a reason why, I am still curious how that developed without any examples to emulate. It's not like you see it in other electronic communication or on the back of cereal boxes.

Now, the topic was in regards to the Insider Preview, so it already derailed when Win10 finalized and all the people upgrading to Final flooded in. Now that it is released we do not need a thread specific to a pre-release version, so general Windows threads in OS make more sense. Except for historical documentation of the progression of Insider Previews, this ongoing thread is vestigial.

Had a problem in the Edge browser just now where I couldn't close the search-in-page bar. It didn't have focus, so I was trying to click the big "X" to close. Then, tried to click the search box and press Esc, but the search box wouldn't get focus. I had to press Ctrl+F to activate it, then I was able to close it by clicking the X.

Would you and your brother mind knocking it off? Seriously, we get it, you are obsessed with the proper use of English/language. You don't need to correct everyone and babble on about "well.. it was weird, it seemed weird man. are you doing something weird?"

Not sure where you got that from.

I asked where he got it from and did not correct him. I have FAR from perfect English and it was my worst subject in school. Are you not even the least bit curious why someone would never put a space after a comma even though they ALWAYS have spaces everywhere else except numbers ("1,000,000")? Even if you aren't curious, I am. So what?! I am not satisfied yet because I still don't know. Linguists and people who study the etymology and origin of words and languages did not learn by suppressing their curiosity.

Just remember English is not native to every member here, end of the day the AT forums should be a place any member can comfortably post without being insulted or grammar dissected in one form or another.

I'm all good with you guys, but remember some members here can be more sensitive.

Getting back to Win10 again and trying to stay on topic, any of you guys checked your reliability history in Action Centre?
I have a few errors in the chart ie critical events with OHub.exe and Get Office .

No crashes however while actually using Win10.
I wasn't insulting you and I did ask if English was your native language, so I believe I did what was necessary to avoid potentially offending all but the most sensitive of people. In particular, I thought it might be that commas are treated differently in your native language and I was curious to know which language that was.

Also, if I was using a language incorrectly that I was attempting to learn or improve on, such a discussion could only help. I would not discourage it.

CZroe I'm done with the English grammar so with respect lets drop it, getting back to my main question anybody else checked their reliability history?

Btw I installed tonight's Win10 updates and also the new Firefox 40 version with has official Win10 support and other fixes.

No real issues to report so far, Win10 still running great for me.

This happened again just now. This time, I pressed Ctrl+F and could see that it activated, but it didn't highlight the existing search term. Pressing Esc did nothing.

I hit Ctrl+F a second time and it highlighted the text. Then, pressing Esc finally dismissed it.

Be curious, do your thing. The point is the thread is the wrong place to do it. Do it in a PM if you must know.

I just wonder why you use commas where periods should be used. And why you don't put a space after a completed sentence ended in said period.

After reading on the internet for 20+ years I don't even see punctuation anymore.

Though I am having early 90's AOL chatroom flashbacks the last little bit.

Windows 10.... Not quite there yet. LOL!

My num-lock key will disable when needing to enter my pin to login to Windows. I like the Num-Pad darn it!

Chrome will not show text when typing in the address bar. I cannot pin Chrome Shortcuts to my taskbar.

Turning my Bluetooth Headset on will blue screen my PC: http://forums.anandtech.com/showthread.php?p=37622881#post37622881

On the plus side it seems a bit zippier....

I don't have anything bluetooth to test this, but it REALLY sounds like a driver issue, not a Win10 issue. Yell at WIDCOM

Chrome however I do use, and it looks fine. Have you made sure your video drivers are up to date, and then reinstalled Chrome if you still see problems? As for numlock, is it off at boot time? If so, that's usually a motherboard setting - mine remains on, but I set it to be on at boot time in the BIOS when that option is there.

I had to tell my laptop windows 8.1 via a registry adjustment to keep the numlock on despite the bios suggesting it should already be. Did that on 8 too, but not Linux or 10.
BT worked ok on lappy the other day, haven't tried desktop but it's on.

Can we please get back on topic with this thread and help each other out with the all important question: how do you like windows 10? My answer to that is that I absolutely love it, especially since my desktop was able to take the upgrade without issue and is currently running quite well with the latest updates in place with the upgrade. I love the thin edge border look. My biggest gripe is that iTunes hangs the taskbar every now and then but I have a batch file on a macro key that I just hit to kill and restart it without losing anything.

I hope the grammar in this post is correct.

Microsoft rolls out second cumulative update for Windows 10

The security update for Windows 10 that is dated August 11, 2015, includes improvements to improve the functionality of Windows 10 and resolves the following vulnerabilities in Windows:

3086251 MS15-092: Vulnerabilities in the .NET Framework could allow elevation of privilege: August 11, 2015
3084525 MS15-091: Cumulative security update for Microsoft Edge: August 11, 2015
3082458 MS15-088: Unsafe command-line parameter passing could allow information disclosure: August 11, 2015
3082487 MS15-085: Vulnerability in Mount Manager could allow elevation of privilege: August 11, 2015
3078662 MS15-080: Vulnerabilities in Microsoft graphics component could allow remote code execution: August 11, 2015
3082442 MS15-079: Cumulative security update for Internet Explorer: August 11, 2015

Windows 10 updates are cumulative. Therefore, this package contains all previously released fixes. (See KB 3081424.) If you have previous updates installed, only the new fixes that are contained in this package will be downloaded and installed to your computer.

The Chrome issue seems to be when Hardware Acceleration is enabled. So Google needs to fix it.

I am trying to contact someone at Broadcom to fix the WIDCOMM software....

Aside from the minor quirks I like some of the new stuff with Windows 10. I like that you can set updates to be shared with another Windows 10 PC on your network to save bandwidth.

The upcoming Xbox One / 360 Controller Chatpad support will be nice for those who do 3rd person games online like GTAV on a big screen. ;P

The built in screen recording is very handy.

The new Start menu is fine.

Aren't we suppose to be getting some type of Windows 10 Skype?

So far it's a good upgrade. Just bring on those fixes.

Same problem as Win8. I had done a registry tweak to fix that, but it was un-done after the Win10 upgrade.

I don't mind doing Registry tweaks but I didn't have this issue in Windows 8 and frankly it shouldn't be an issue. They should fix it.

To be fair, Windows 7 was the only Windows OS that I enjoyed from when it was first release since possibly '98 (and probably ME). I thought XP was awful when it first came out, as one example. So yeah, 10 has bugs, no big surprise. It will get better.

Wait, it's Broadcom? Good luck. I worked there as an intern for a little shy of a year, and if there's anything I can say - they aren't a software company. They don't understand software development. Also, didn't they CHARGE for dial up drivers on Linux back in the day?

I don't understand how it worked in Win8 without the reghack. It was absolutely required for me and everything I found online suggested no other workaround.

On my tablet it's great, it's actually made a Bay Trail chip feel like a usable chip. On the desktop it's a bit mixed, I have done 4 systems so far and 3 have a issue that forces me to revert back to 8.1. Basically the GPU loads up 100% after a few minutes in Windows. 1 was a upgrade the other 3 clean installs (1 upgrade & 2 clean have the issue).

Since my tablet is pretty much a communal tablet it's set up at default settings mostly with Cortana running, all the desktops have it disabled, issues with the tracking and I don't want the extra processes running on gaming machines.

I've got one for you all:

Has anyone tried this:
-Upgrade 7 to get your key for 10
-Proceed to do a fresh install of 10
-Attempt to active Windows before all hardware has been detected

Does it work? I have read people saying that Windows 10 OEM is more specific about hardware detection than previous OSs, so I am wondering if trying to activate too early messes things up. And the reason I didn't ask about 8 is because, since 10 will be using the key in the BIOS (if you have a machine built that way), it may not be as picky.

Because it wasn't an outright "broken" issue - it was a bug that effected certain keyboard drivers or specific ICs in the keyboards or the combo of the system's USB driver + the keyboard driver... etc etc etc.

Thus why many reported no problems, while others reported problems.

For the longest while, I didn't have to worry about it on Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 with my Razer Blackwidow Ultimate Stealth. Then after a complete format and a fresh install of 8.1, it stopped working correctly until I found that registry fix.

No idea if it'll remain fixed in Windows 10, or if the fix will be removed and it will work.. or it won't work for whatever reason.

No key is needed. I upgraded from 7 to 10 with a platter drive and then did a fresh install of 10 on a new SSD. Activated fine with no keys. I didn't even bother writing down the key. I just skipped all the steps that asked for the key.
