It's a dangerous personality that's willing to take advantage of others. This is pretty petty, but like others in this thread have said, it's because of people like the OP who abused it that those who were legitimately interested were denied the sale "because of abuse."

Even though it's petty, it's still taking serious advantage of the store and other customers "just because" and that's pretty shitty to me.

It feels silly to be upset over this, but I can see why others would be and I don't blame them.

Reminds me of the time I got 83 packs of chocolate from walgreens for ~$2. Before anyone harks on me, just keep in mind that I gave 90%+ of it away as free gifts to people.

fucking thief! People were raping that deal here too and the crap was showing up in the swap marts and garage sales.

So much for next year.

markgm...most of us look forward to Sears deals. When people abuse them they don't happen. When a store gets raped like that, we can only look forward to higher prices.

Not to mention it was STEALING.

You can steal a car and give it away too.

Yes, it's stealing when both both the store and customer agree on a price and a transaction takes place They could have easily said that they weren't going to do the transaction and that would have been that. In both a legal and moral definition I am absolved of any guilt.

<sigh>

The Op abused a coupon and now looks like a ($5?) tool. (Pun intended)

I didn't even know about this deal, but when I come across these...I may use it once or twice, but how much junk can you use? I already have enough crap that I have stashed around the house--like I really need more....

When the store states a limit it is stealling.

There was no stated limit. It said buy 2 get 1 free.($2 off)

And like I said earlier, the store was free to refuse any transaction. Any definition of stealing would be remove the goods from the store without it's knowledge or in a clearly fraudulent manner. Using a store issued coupon that is accepted and issued by their system does not count as fraud.

Some people just have no sense of self control. I'm fine with using the coupon a couple times for things you need, but most of that crap is just going to sit in your closet and rot. Lame.

Oh Alkemyst, how I've missed your confused, rambling nonsense-rants. Please explain how he was stealing?

I fail to see how this is theft. If they accepted the coupon then its their fault for not reading the fine print of their own coupon. Im not saying I would have done this, expecially with the no copy line in the fine print, but if he did it and they allowed it then...SEARS=FAIL

Wow, that's a lot of crap. Seroiusly, I wouldn't do that just for the fact that I don't want crap cluttering up my home.

I don't think it's stealing, however I do think it's a pretty lame thing to do - 'oh look what I did with my time, got a bunch of crap I don't really need'.

except for the whole "there was no limit stated" thing.

I used it two or three times, went by after work, got a pair of wire strippers and soldering iron I needed. Another time on an impact driver. Wouldn't have gone there for them otherwise.

I nominate the OP for Douche of the Year.

What a pointless endeavor.

It's stealing if you consider fraud to be the same thing.

It's not stealing. But there are people who care about what is right and wrong, and there are people who only care about what they can get away with. The latter are assholes.

Lots of assholes in this thread, but mostly non-assholes.

Edit: There are also people who don't understand the difference between the two types mentioned above. They would be the people who would read my post and ask "what did the OP do wrong?"
